KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III Slide Projector Model AFT The KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III Slide Projector Model AFT is a modified version of the standard Model A projector A timer with fade feature was added specifically for use in cinema pre show applications It was available to a limited number of companies involved with theater pre show advertising systems It was not for sale through normal audio visual channels for general use Kodak is providing this information as there have been a few instances of AFTs finding their way onto the internet for sale The cinema pre show application included a slide projector working many hours day in less than pristine environments This means that AFTs are more apt to be candidates for maintenance Unlike other slide projectors sold for general use the AFT did not ship with the following items No user manual No slide tray No lamp No cabled remote No lens It did ship with two documents as follows 1 Laminated sheet How to Use see document following 2 Important Maintenance Tips see document following KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III AFT Projector PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Congratulations on the purchase of your KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III AFT Projector Please review this product sheet and the important maintenance instructions enclosed The KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III AFT Projector is a standard KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III A Projector with fade and timer controls added This projector was specifically designe
4. d for cinema applications and therefore does not include a slide tray lamp lens user manual or remote control FADE and VIEW controls There are three controls for the special features of the AFT Projector They are located under the projector handle Few oe Ya 1 Automatic AFT mode ON OFF When this switch is ON I slides will advance automatically using the VIEW and FADE times selected 2 VIEW adjustment screw Allows you to select the amount of time the slide is displayed on the screen from 5 to 15 seconds 3 FADE adjustment screw Allows selection of the time it takes to fade up and down between slides from 0 5 to 4 seconds NOTE The operation will sequence as follows fade up change slide fade down Selection of 0 5 second for example will fade up 0 5 seconds change slide 1 second and fade down 0 5 seconds for a total of 2 seconds per slide change Important Safety Instructions Ay IMPORTANT Your KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III AFT Projector is supplied with a 3 wire grounding power cord to comply with UL122 and CSA222 Safety Electronics Standards We urge you to provide a permanent properly installed 3 wire receptacle as the source of power for this projector Your projector is designed to operate with 110 to 125 volts 60 Hz current only Incorrect voltage could cause the projector to malfunction Inputs in excess of 125 volts will adversely affect lamp life When using your projector always follow the

9. tissue 6 Clean the projection lens with lens cleaner or clear water Do not clean the lens with a dry cloth 7 Keep the air exhaust grille clean Use compressed air and a brush to remove dirt Inspect this area often If it appears dirty your projector may require professional cleaning and should be taken to an Authorized Kodak Repair Shop Cleaning is not covered under the Manufacturer s Warranty Step 7 Operation The KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC III AFT Projector is equipped with controls to adjust the FADE and VIEW cycles They are located under the projector handle It is shipped with factory default settings of e AUTOMATIC AFT mode ON 1 e VIEW time 10 seconds e FADE Up and Down 0 5 second each total 1 second To use 1 Install a loaded slide tray 2 Turn the slide projector ON by selecting low or high lamp position on the control panel 3 The projector will automatically advance slides fading between slide changes and will continue until the projector is turned off To adjust VIEW control Using a small flat blade screwdriver turn the VIEW screw clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the amount of time you want the image projected 5 to 15 seconds To adjust FADE control Using a small flat blade screwdriver turn the FADE screw clockwise to fade up and down 0 5 to 4 seconds Total fade time is two times your selection NOTE You may make these adjustments with the projector
