5. 2 1 Press a device key 2 Press SCAN once 3 To stop scanning channels at any time press any Key once SETTING THE POWER MACRO You can use your new RadioShack 8 in 1 LCD Remote to program a power macro that turns your devices off or on in the sequence you choose 20 To set the Power macro 1 Press and hold P until the LCD displays CODE SET OK UR A V ge 2 Usethe Aor W keys to scroll through the LCD display until MACRO is displayed Press OK The LCD displays PLUR TD H Press OK 4 The LCD displays ADD MACRO Press OK The LCD displays PRES MODE NORA V 5 Press the mode key for each device you want to add to the power macro in the order they should execute when the macro is activated 6 The LCD displays HOLD P TO SAVE OR d after the first mode key is pressed 7 After entering the modes press and hold P until the LED blinks twice then release The LCD displays SUCCESS Now when you press and hold the Power key for about 2 seconds the remote executes the series of commands you entered NOTE You may not include the user keys in the Power macro User keys are any key other than the mode keys ios To Clear the Power Macro To dear the Power macro repeat steps 1 3 above then perform the following steps 1 The LCD displays ADD MACRO 2 Press A V until the LCD displays BL T MACRO Press OK 3 The LCD displays ARE U SURE UK UR 4 Press OK The LCD displays SUCCESS and the remote exits

SETTING KEY MACROS Your RadioShack 8 in 1 LCD Remote allows you to set up key macros to activate certain keys in a specific order For example you can set up a key macro to change the channels on your raise or lower the volume and start recording on your VCR all with the touch of one key The M1 M2 and M3 keys are reserved for macros To set a key macro perform the following steps 1 Press and hold P until the LCD displays CODE SET OK UR A Y E 2 Usethe Aor V keys to scroll through the LCD display until MACRO is displayed Press OK 3 The LCD displays PLUR ID KU Press W until the LCD displays KEY UK OR V Press OK 4 The LCD displays ADO Press OK 5 The LCD displays SEL MACRO KEY OR a Press the key you want to program the macro on NOTE Any function key like M1 M2 or other than EXIT or can be a macro key 21 6 The LCD displays PRESS KEYS IN When you press Y you can continue reading instructions Press the keys for the macro in the order they should occur For example press TV and then Chan A 7 When you have finished programming your key macro press and hold P until the LCD displays SUCCESS and exits DELETING A KEY MACRO To delete a key macro perform the following steps 1 Press and hold P until the LCD displays CODE SET OK UR A Y 2 Usethe Aor V keys to scroll through the LCD display until MACRO is displayed Press OK 3 The LCD displays PAR TH K

9. key until the LCD displays the time The clock is used for timed macros For more information on timed macros see Setting Time Macros on page 22 PROGRAMMING A DEVICE The RadioShack 8 in 1 LCD Remote comes pre programmed to operate Sony TVs VCRs DVD players and audio devices as well as a Dish Network satellite receiver To control devices other than these default brands follow these steps otherwise skip this section Before proceeding find the codes for the devices you want to program in Manufacturer s Codes and write them down or highlight them The RadioShack 8 in 1 LCD Remote offers three methods for programming a device You can program a device by selecting its brand for the top 25 brands only by manually entering its ID code into the remote control or by searching for the code Programming a Device by Selecting Its Brand 1 on the device for example DVD player and if needed load media for example a DVD 2 Press and hold P until the LCD displays CODE SET OK UR A Y Press OK 4 The LCD displays BRAND 5 Press OK The LCD displays PRESS MODE OR A v 6 Select the mode on the remote that you would like to set for example TV 7 The LCD displays SETUP CBL Use the W keys to scroll through the different types of devices to set up Press OK 8 Selectthe brand of device you want to control for example Sony by using the A W keys to scroll through the brand list You can also

PRESS MODE OR 4 4 Press the mode key for the device you want to control the channel for example TV The LCD displays SUCCESS TU 5 The LCD displays VOLUME UK OR 4 Press OK Press the mode key for the device that you want to control volume for example AUDIO The LCD displays SUCCESS 6 The LCD displays TRANSPORT UK OR 4 Press OK 7 Press the mode key for the device you want to control transport for example VCR The LCD displays SUCLESS VER The LCD displays MENU NAV OK OR 4 Press OK 9 Press the mode key for the device you want to control menu navigation for example CBL SAT The LCD displays SUCCESS SAT 10 When programming is complete the LCD displays COMPLETE and exits the My System setup USING LEARNING The RadioShack 8 in 1 LCD Remote includes a Learning feature so you can add functions that are unique to your home entertainment devices e g VCR Tracking Up or Down However there are some considerations Learning Precautions Your original remote controls must be in working order for learning to work properly Learned keys are mode specific so each one can store a unique function for each mode Learning capacity is approximately 34 to 50 keys depending on the code being learned Some keys cannot be learned Mode keys for example TV P and the Light bulb key e Certain device functions are not learnable including multi frequency types some high frequency ones and othe
14. channels in any order that are immediately scanned when you press FAV SCAN NOTE You can only store channels from one device for Favorite Channel Scan 1 Press and hold P until the LCD displays CODE SETOKORAY 2 Use the use the Aor Vkeys to scroll through the LCD De until FAV CH is displayed Press 0 The LCD displays SELECT MODE UR a 4 Select the mode you want to program for Favorite Channel Scan for example TV The LCD displays 157 TEU OK OK GR a Press OK 6 The LCD displays ENTER CHAN OK OR 4 Enter a channel number for example 039 Press OK NOTE Ifyou press after programming your first Favorite Channel the remote saves the last Favorite Channel selection and exits back to the main Favorite Channel screen 7 The LCD displays 2 FAV CH OK GR Press OK Enter the next channel number for example 055 Press OK 8 Continue entering channel numbers until you get up to 10 channels programmed 9 As soon as you enter the 10th channel the LCD displays SUCCESS and exits if you decide you Pu fewer than 10 channels then press EXIT or NOTE Whenever you want to add or replace one or more favorite channels all previously entered favorite channels are cleared USING CHANNEL SCAN Use FAV SCAN to start a three second scan of all favorite channels if programmed see Programming Favorite Channel Scan on page 20 or all channels if Favorite Channel Scan is not programmed
