The optimum shutter speed and aperture size are set according to the brightness of the subject Aperture and shutter variable program AE Example For simple shooting with minimum setup using the camera s automatic settings PROGRAM lt 11100 This allows you to set a specific aperture size The camera automatically sets an appropriate shutter speed based on this setting Aperture priority AE Example To open the aperture for portraits with a blurred background for a shallow field depth or to close the aperture for a clear foreground and background for a deep field depth This allows you to set a specific shutter speed The camera automatically sets an appropriate aperture size based on this setting Shutter speed priority AE Example To set a fast shutter speed for capturing a clear image of a fast moving object or to set a slow shutter speed to shoot the flow of a background scene 107 English SETTING THE EXPOSURE CONTROL M This allows you to set a specific shutter speed and aperture size Manual exposure control Example When shooting in a dark location without using the flash set the shutter to stay open for a longer time slow shutter When used for shooting nighttime scenes you can capture lights flowing across the image 3 Press the SET button The screen corresponding to the exposur

If the Real Color Equalizer 3 0 on PC application the provided CD ROM Sanyo Software Pack is used to change the colors see page 118 and results in extreme values for the camera s color settings accurate color adjustment may not be possible It is recommended that when adjusting the colors using the Real Color Equalizer 3 0 on PC you set the camera s color adjustment setting to DEF initial settings or set the hue and saturation values close to 0 and photograph the images without extreme settings Setting data is prestored in color adjustment icons 1 to C24 After overwriting these settings with your custom settings you can reset the settings to their original values by loading them from the provided CD ROM Sanyo Software Pack The settings data is in the Setting data folder within the Real Color Equalizer folder Settings data file name Title To photograph None sancam01 cfg Color tone adjustment off MONOCHROME sancam02 cfg Monochrome RED sancam03 cfg Red only generated MOUNTAIN sancam04 cfg English 116 ADJUSTING THE COLOR TONES REAL COLOR EQUALIZER Download the color tone correction data created on a computer The settings data created using the Real Color Equalizer 3 0 on PC in the supplied CD ROM Sanyo Software Pack can be downloaded to your digital camera 1 Insert a card on which color tone correction data created on a

If any data is present you can also check the remaining battery pack charge on the Playback Information Screen Use only the supplied or separately sold battery pack in this camera Battery life may differ even among battery packs of the same type Depending on the usage of the digital camera such as the number of times the flash is used the use of the LCD monitor etc or the environmental conditions temperature etc the number of images that can be saved on a fully charged battery pack will vary greatly NOTE It is recommended that you prepare an extra battery pack s when taking pictures at a wedding or while traveling for example so you don t miss capturing images of important moments due to the battery pack power running out The same is recommended for taking photos in cold environments In a ski area for example the battery pack can be kept warm in your pocket until ready to use English 172 CHECKING THE REMAINING CARD MEMORY You can check how many images can be captured and how much recording time is available on the card For a table showing the maximum number of images and recording time for specific cards please see Possible No of Images Possible Shooting Time Possible Recording Time on page 198 Checking the remaining number of images and video recording time 1 Set the main switch to C and Selector dial press the power button Set the selector dial to anything Power button other

23. are returned to the Shooting Setting Screen HINT When using a slow shutter setting use a tripod or the like to stabilize the digital camera slow shutter speed makes shooting pictures in darker locations possible however image noise may increase To reduce the noise set the noise reduction to on When manual exposure control is selected the exposure correction value becomes 0 and exposure correction cannot be performed e If the aperture value is set to F10 or higher the resolution of the shot picture may be slightly reduced CAUTION While the Exposure Control Setting Screen is displayed step 3 the zoom function is disabled 109 English SETTING THE NOISE REDUCTION Noise which occurs in captured images when the shutter button is pressed during still image shooting is reduced The initial setting for noise reduction is off 1 Display the Still Image Shooting Setting Screen see page 39 2 Select the noise reduction on icon NR from the noise reduction menu and press the SET button NR Noise is reduced NRJ Noise is not reduced This completes the noise reduction setting NOTE The noise reduction function works when the shutter speed is 1 4 second or more The time it takes to record the shooting data after the shutter release button is pressed is longer when the noise reduction function is used than when it is
