1. TECHNICAL APPLICATION Programmable and non programmable thermostats with solid state equipment outputs require a minimum of 80 mA ac 0 08A of current draw to ensure switching integrity The 300 Q 5 watt resistor supplied should be installed on the equipment terminal strip in accordance with the drawing below to increase the current draw of the primary control to 80 mA or greater This connection should eliminate any incompatibility problems between the thermostat and the system INSTALLING THE RESISTOR 1 Read the instructions carefully Failure to do so may damage the product or cause a hazardous condition 2 Check the rating on the resistor to make sure the size rating is correct 3 The installer must be a qualified service technician 4 Connect the resistor leads to the equipment termi nal strip across the W Y or G as required and 24VAC Common terminals Avoid contact with any other terminals or components within the equip ment Connect either end of the resistor to the terminals non polarized and firmly tighten the screw terminals WARNING The resistor will become warm during equipment operation This is normal THERMOSTAT EQUIPMENT 24 Vac Transformer A B C Load Resistors provided as per above information 110 856
