1. You can use this unit to control a multi CD player which is sold separately These are the basic steps necessary to play a CD with your multi CD player More advanced CD operation is explained starting on the next page Disc number indicator Shows the disc currently playing 2 Play time indicator Shows the elapsed playing time of the cur rent track 3 Track number indicator Shows the track currently playing 1 Press SOURCE to select the multi CD player Press SOURCE until you see MULTI CD dis played 2 Select a disc you want to listen to with the NUMBER 1 6 buttons For discs located at 1 to 6 press the corre sponding button number If you want to select a disc located at 7 to 12 press and hold the corresponding numbers such as 1 for disc 7 until the disc number ap pears in the display You can also sequentially select a disc by pressing IIb or dil 3 To perform fast forward or reverse press and hold lt lt or gt gt 4 To skip back or forward to another track press lt lt or gt gt Pressing lt lt skips to the start of the next track Pressing gt gt once skips to the start of the current track Pressing again will skip to the previous track Notes e When the multi CD player performs the pre paratory operations READY is displayed e f the multi CD player does not operate prop erly an error message such as ERROR 02 may be displayed Refer to the multi CD pl

When there is no magazine in the multi CD player When there is no magazine in the multi DVD player Basic Operations When the AUX auxiliary input is set to off refer to page 82 e External unit refers to a Pioneer product such as one available in the future that although incompatible as a source enables control of basic functions by this unit Two external units can be controlled by this unit When two exter nal units are connected the allocation of them to external unit 1 or external unit 2 is automatically set by this unit e When this unit s blue white lead is connected to the car s auto antenna relay control term inal the car s antenna extends when this unit s source is turned on To retract the an tenna turn the source off When you con nected a Pioneer multi channel processor DEQ P7650 to this unit auto antenna cannot be controled Loading a disc 1 Press OPEN to open the front panel Disc loading slot appears After a disc has been inserted press SOURCE to select the DVD player 2 Insert a disc into the disc loading slot When you set DSC A ON playback will auto matically start If you set DSC A OFF press SOURCE to select DVD refer to the previous page Disc loading slot EJECT button Jo eject a disc press EJECT Section CH To avoid a malfunction make sure that no metal object comes into contact with the term inals when the front pan

SosIp OaplA GA bulAej g Section Playing DVD video discs Notes e The amp mark on a DVD s package indicates it features multi angle scenes The number in the 24 mark indicates the number of angles trom which scenes were shot e Pressing ANGLE during fast forward fast re verse pause or slow motion playback returns you to normal playback but the viewing angle does not change e While the angle icon and angle number are displayed you can also switch to a desired angle number using NUMBER Resume playback Bookmark The Bookmark function lets you resume play back trom a selected scene the next time the disc is loaded To perform this function set the remote con trol to DVD mode During playback press BOOKMARK BOOK M at the point you want to resume playback next time The selected scene will be bookmarked so that playback resumes from that point next time You can bookmark up to five discs After that the oldest bookmark is replaced by the new one Jo clear the bookmark on a disc press and hold BOOKMARK BOOK M during playback m You can also bookmark a disc by pressing and holding EJECT at the point you want to bookmark Next time you load the disc playback will resume from the bookmarked point Note that you can only bookmark one disc using this method To clear the bookmark on a disc press EJECT 24 En Operating from the information displays miiie Cline e Time OOo

9. 1 0 1 1 2 2 and 2 3 formats for display of album disc title track track title artist track artist and comments Ver 2 x of ID3 Tag is given priority when both Ver 1 x and Ver 2 x exist The emphasis function is valid only when MP3 files of 32 44 1 and 48 kHz frequen cies are played back 16 22 05 24 32 En 44 1 48 kHz sampling frequencies can be played back There is no m3u playlist compatibility There is no compatibility with the MP3i MP3 interactive or mp3 PRO formats The sound quality of MP3 files generally be comes better with an increased bit rate This unit can play recordings with bit rates from 8 kbps to 320 kbps but in order to be able to enjoy sound of a certain quality we recommend using only discs recorded with a bit rate of at least 128 kbps WMA additional information This unit plays back WMA Tiles encoded by Windows Media Player version 7 and 8 You can only play back WMA Tiles in the fre quencies 32 44 1 and 48 kHz The sound quality of WMA Tiles generally becomes better with an increased bit rate This unit can play recordings with bit rates trom 48 kbps to 192 kbps but in order to be able to enjoy sound of a certain quality we recommend using discs recorded with a higher bit rate This unit does not play back WMA Tiles re corded as VBR variable bit rate This unit doesn t support the following for mats Windows Media Audio 9 Professional 5 1ch
