6. he telescopic aerial The aerial can be directed by turning the whole set e When FM ST lights up you are receiving a FM stereo transmitter A disturbing noise due to a weak FM stereo signal can be suppressed by setting the MONO STEREO switch 3 to MONO The FM ST will disappear and you will hear and record the FM program in MONO e The set is switched off if the MODE selector is in position TAPE and no buttons are pressed CASSETTE PLAYBACK e Set the MODE selector 3 to TAPE e Press EJ 63 and insert a recorded cassette fig 3 For playback any cassette type can be inserted e Press PLAY lt 40 and playback will start Playback stops when the tape in the deck reaches its end e Adjust the sound with the VOLUME control 2 You may connect stereo headphones with 3 5 mm plug to socket PHONES 4 The loudspeakers then will be muted e For extra amplification of the bass use the DBB control e To interrupt playback press PAUSE Il 14 e Press STOP 43 if you want to stop the playback before the end of the tape When the end of the tape is reached the PLAY lt 4 40 buttons are released e The set is switched off if the MODE selector 3 is in the TAPE position and no buttons are pressed Winding the tape e Press F FWD lt lt to fast forward the tape e Press REW to fast rewind the tape e Press STOP W to stop fast forward or fast rewind or before the end of the tape
7. is apparatus is fitted with an approved moulded 13 Amp plug To change a fuse in this type of plug proceed as follows e Remove fuse cover and fuse e Fix new fuse which should be a BS1362 5 Amp A S T A or BSI approved type e Refit the fuse cover If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket outlets it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place If the mains plug contains a fuse this should have a value of 5 Amp If a plug without a fuse is used the fuse at the distribution board should not be greater than 5 Amp Note The severed plug must be disposed to avoid a possible shock hazard should it be inserted into a 13 Amp socket elsewhere How to connect a plug The wires in the mains lead are coloured with the following code blue neutral N brown live L As these colours may not correspond with the colour markings identifying the terminals in your plug proceed as follows e Connect the blue wire to the terminal marked N or coloured blue or black e Connect the brown wire to the terminal marked L or coloured brown or red Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal in the plug marked E or or coloured green or green and yellow Before replacing the plug cover make certain that the cord grip is clamped over the sheath of the lead not simply over the two wires If in doubt consult a qualified electrician MIC under grill PAUSE STOP E F FWD
