Orecon SCIENTIFIC Self Setting Atomic Travel Thermometer Alarm Clock with Travel Case Model RM836A USER MANUAL INTRODUCTION Thank you for selecting an Oregon Scientific travel clock RM836A Keep this manual handy as you use your new product It contains practical step by step instructions as well as technical specifications and warnings you should know PRODUCT OVERVIEW EET aT SNOOZE LIGHT RADIO CONTROLLED 1 SNOOZE LIGHT Press to snooze the alarm for 8 mins and or illuminate the backlight for 5 secs 2 MODE Press to toggle between the clock with U S time zone and day of week or clock with seconds press and hold to set the clock 3 A Press to increase a value or press and hold to turn the atomic clock on W Press to decrease a value 4 ALARM Press to toggle between calendar and alarm display press to turn the alarm on off when you are in the alarm display 1 ZONE Press to select a U S time zone press and hold to turn the atomic clock off 2 LOCK Slide to lock or unlock the keypad 3 Battery compartment 4 RESET Press to reset the unit RM836A 086 004112 012 indd 1 Shows atomic clock reception status 12 hour clock Shows when batteries are low Time zones P Pacific M Mountain C Central E Eastern Shows when alarm is activated gee S Shows when alarm time is displayed Calendar alarm display area Clock and time zone
2. display area oe N O gi Temperature in F BATTERIES Insert the batteries making sure the polarities match TABLE STAND 01 Holes 4 This product has two displays Clock with time zone and day of week in English French or Spanish and clock with seconds Press MODE to toggle between the two displays The time is automatically updated by the U S Atomic Clock in Boulder Colorado unless you disable this feature Signals are collected by the main unit when it is within 932 miles 1500 km of a signal Initial reception takes 2 10 minutes and is initiated when you first setup the unit and whenever you press RESET If the signal is weak it can take up to 24 hours to get a valid atomic clock signal reception Once complete the reception icon will stop blinking The icon is shown in the Clock Area STRONG WEAK NO SIGNAL SIGNAL SIGNAL gt L A To force a manual search for atomic clock signals press and hold A for 2 seconds If no signal is found check the batteries NOTE If the atomic clock signal is received and the hour is incorrect use the ZONE button to adjust to the correct time zone P Pacific M Mountain C Central or E Eastern SET TIME AND DATE You only need to do this if you have disabled the atomic clock reception or if you are too far from the atomic clock signal To disable the atomic clock reception press and hold ZONE 1 Press and hold

MODE for 2 seconds 2 Select the hour minutes year month date and display language Press A or W to change the setting Press MODE to confirm NOTE The language options are E English F French and S Spanish SET ALARM 1 Press and hold ALARM for 2 seconds 2 Select the hour and minutes Press A or W to change the setting Press ALARM to confirm NOTE The Alarm is automatically activated whenever you change the alarm time and will appear on the display TURN ALARM OFF When activated the alarm starts quietly then gradually becomes louder If no action is taken the alarm will automatically snooze for 8 minutes then sound once more before it turns off completely for the day To turn the alarm off press ALARM To snooze the alarm press SNOOZE 8 22 05 3 09 57 PM PN W BACKLIGHT KEYPAD LOCK To turn on the backlight for 5 seconds press LIGHT To lock or unlock the keypad slide the switch to the appropriate setting RESET SYSTEM The RESET button is located in the battery compartment Press the button with the point of a blunt object such as a ball point pen whenever the clock is not behaving as expected This will return all settings to default value SAFETY AND CARE Wash the unit with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent Avoid dropping the unit or placing it in a high traffic location WARNINGS This product is designed to give you years of service if handled properly O
