16. 3 1 Precautions Concerning Parts Replacement 3 PARTS REPLACEMENT This section covers the procedures for the disassembly reassembly and installations in the field This section describes the disassembly procedures and for reassembly procedures basically proceed with the disassembly procedures in the reverse order 3 1 Precautions Concerning Parts Replacement Note Always use good anti static methods 1 Parts replacements must be carried out by first turning the printer power switch off O and removing the Multi Purpose Feeder from the printer 2 Do not disassemble the Multi Purpose Feeder if it is operating normally 3 Establish the extent of disassembly suitable for the purpose of the procedure and do not disassemble any more than necessary 4 Use only specified service tools 5 Disassembly must be carried out according to the prescribed procedures Parts may be damaged if such procedures are not followed 6 Small parts such as screws and collars can easily be lost therefore these parts should be temporarily fixed in the original location 7 When handling printed circuit boards do not use gloves which may generate static electricity 8 Do not place the printed circuit boards directly on the equipment or floor Service Tools Table 3 1 shows the tools required for the replacement of printed circuit boards and units in the field Table 3 1 Service Tools No Service tools Q ty Place of use Remarks No 1 100
