1. your network b Configure the wirdess interface for wirdess access See the online hdp or Understanding Basic Wirdess Settings saction in the Reference Manual for full instructions c Tet wirdess connectivity using aPC with awirdess adapter configured according to the wirdess settings you just set in the WG302 establish a wirdess connection to the WG302 Now thet you have finished the stup steps you are ready to deploy the WG302 in your network If neaded you can now reconfigure the PC you used in step 1 back to its orignal TCP IP settings 3 Deploy the WG302 Access Point a Disconnect the WG302 and postion it where you will deploy it T he best locetion is deveted such wall mounted or on the top of acubide amp the center of your wirdess coverage area and within line of soht of al the mobile devices b Lift the antenna on athe sde that they ae vaticd Note Consult the antenna positioning and configuration infor metion in the Reference Manual on the Resource CD for ProSafe Wireless Access Point c Connect an Ethene cable from your WG302 Access Point to a LAN port on your router switch or hub d Connect the power adapter to the wirdess access point and plug the power adapter in to a power outlet The PWR LAN and Wirdess LAN lights should light up 4 Verify Wireless Connectivity Using a computer with an 802 11g or 802 11b wirdess adapter verify connectivity by using a browser such as Netscepe or Internet

WIRELES o NETGEAR fe 802 11g ProSafe Wireless Access Point WG302 e7 4 sa Installation Guide Follow these quick steps to install your wireless access point You can also consult the Install Assistant or the Reference Manual on the Resource CD for ProSafe Wireless Access Point 1 Set up the WG302 Access Point Tip Before mounting the WG302 in a high locetion first st up and test the WG302 to verify wirdess network connectivity Unpack the box and verify the contents and attach the antennas b PrepareaPC with an Ethene adapter If this PC is dreedy pat of your network record itsTCP IP configuretion settings Configure the PC with astatic IP address of 192 168 0 210 and 255 255 255 0 for the Subnet Mask c Connect an Ethene cable from the WG302 to the PC A WG302 802 11g ProSafe Wireless Access Point d Turn on your compute connect the power adapter to the WG302 and veify the following e ThePWR powe light goes on e TheLAN light of the wirdess access point is lit when connected to a powered on PC 2 Configure LAN and Wireless Access a Configure the WG302 Ethernet port for LAN access e Connect to the WG302 by opening your browser and entering Attp 192 168 0 228 in the address fidd e When prompted enter adimin for the user name and password for the password both in lower cese letters e Click the IP Settings link and configure the P Settings for
4. f you weusing the N amp BIOS nan of the WG 302 to connect ensure that your PC and the WG302 are on the same network s9 ment or that there is a WIN S server on your network e If your PC uss a Fixed Static IP address ensure that it is using an IP Address in the range of the WG302 The WG302 default I P Address is 192 168 0 228 and the default Sulbbnet M ak is 255 255 255 0 The WG 302 default setting is for a tatic IP address If the network where you are connecting it is uing DHCP configure it accordindy Seethe Reference Manual on the Resource CD for ProSafe Wireless Access Point for more details cannot access the Internet or the LAN with a wireless capable computer Thereis aconfiguretion prodem Check these items e You may not have restarted the computer with the wird ess adapter to haveT CP I P changgss teke effect Restart the computer e The computer with the wirdess adapter may not have the correct TCP IP settings to communicete with the network Restart the computer and check that TCP IP is set up property for that network The usual setting for Windows on the Network Properties is set to Obtain an IP address autometicdly e Theaccess points default values may not work with your network Check the access point default configuration agains the configuration of other devices in your network e For full instructions on changing the access point s default values see the Reference Manual on the Resource CD for ProSafe W
