7. contact your Modular telephone company for assistance Choose the dialing mode Most phone systems use tone dialing which sends DTMF tones through the phone lines However some phone systems still use pulse dialing such as in rural areas The default setting is tone dialing Depending on your dialing system set the mode as follows 1 Press and hold CID MENU The following screen appears 2 Use or 4to move the pointer to the selection that you would like to change Press the SELECT key to toggle between 7 or After you have made your selections press OFF or return the handset to the base If you are not sure of your dialing system set for tone dialing Make a trial call If the call connects leave the setting as is otherwise set for pulse dialing Make sure your battery pack is fully charged before choosing the dial mode 12 4 MPH6935_OM Eng 3 12 02 3 06 PM Page i Preparing the battery pack Charge the battery pack for 15 20 hours before connecting the phone line 1 Press and slide the battery compartment cover toward the bottom of the unit 2 Connect the battery pack connector with the correct polarity black and red wires then insert the battery pack into the battery compartment 3 Securely close the battery compartment cover by sliding it up until it snaps into place 4 Place the handset in the base unit with the keys and display facing upw
