1. Rear of Unit Headphone Jack Rear of Unit Skip Search gt gt Button Right Speaker POWER SOURCES This unit is designed to operate on AC household current or DC batteries AC Use the AC polarized line cord included with the unit for operation on AC power Insert one end of the AC line cord into the AC jack on the rear of the unit and the other end with the 2 blades into a conveniently located AC outlet having 120V 60Hz When the 1 AC cord is plugged in the batteries will be discon nected NOTE The AC plug supplied with the unit is polar ized to help minimize the possibility of electric AC Outlet a AC PI shock If the AC plug does not fit into a nonpolar s ized AC outlet do not file or cut the wide blade It is the user s responsibility to have an electrician replace the obsolete outlet BATTERY INSTALLATION To use this unit with battery power remove the Battery Compartment door on the bottom of the unit by sliding it off Insert eight 8 C size batteries following the diagram in the compartment NOTE The AC power cord must be disconnected from the AC jack on the rear of the unit in order for the unit to operate on battery power BATTERY PRECAUTIONS Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device 1 Use only the size and type of batteries specified 2 Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery co

PLAY PAUSE pP II button to begin playback The PLAY PROG indicator will light and the specific track you selected will be repeated continuously To repeat all of the tracks on a disc continuously press the REPEAT button twice while in the Stop mode the Repeat indicator will light Press the PLAY PAUSE b II button to begin playback The PLAY PROG indicator will light and all tracks will be repeated continuously To cancel Repeat playback press the STOP W button twice 10 OPERATION CONTINUED TO PROGRAM THE MEMORY UP TO 20 TRACKS Slide the Function switch to the CD position to turn the unit on and select CD mode the POWER ON indicator will light Insert a CD as described on page 9 Press the PROGRAM button 01 on the display and the PLAY PROG indi cator will blink Use the Skip Search M or gt gt but ton to select the first track to be pro grammed Press the PROGRAM button again the selected track has now been pro grammed and counted as program 1 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to program the other desired tracks in sequence When the program memory is full the unit will run through the programmed tracks in the display and then revert to 01 Press the PLAY PAUSE Ill button to begin Programmed playback the PLAY PROG indicator will blink and the tracks will play in the order programmed SE

E NEXT PAGES FOR NOTES ON PROGRAMMED PLAY OPERATION CONTINUED NOTES ON PROGRAMMED PLAY e Programming is the ability to preselect the order in which a series of tracks will be played e Each track may be stored in the program memory as many times as desired e As each track is played its track number will be displayed You can move for ward or backward through the programmed tracks with the Skip Search M4 or button e The CD player will stop after all programmed tracks have been played or the STOP W button is pressed e The Program memory will be cleared when the STOP W button is pressed twice the unit is turned off or changed to another mode or when the CD door is opened e To check the program while in the Stop mode press the PROGRAM button and the unit will run through the programmed tracks in the display and then revert to 01 PROGRAMMED REPEAT Press the PLAY PAUSE 1 button It is also possible to use the Program and to begin Programmed Repeat Repeat functions together to repeat a specific program indefinitely First program the tracks you wish to hear in the order you wish to hear them as described on page 11 Then press the REPEAT button twice The PLAY PROG indicator will blink and the REPEAT indicator will light playback the PLAY PROG indicator will continue to blink and the REPEAT indicator will light The player will play the tracks you selected in the order in which yo
