21. docking station has an additional role as a recharge station for the MediSense rechargeable battery pack optional The rechargeable battery pack must be in the monitor to take advantage of this option Identifying Monitor Functions Through the monitor the operator can view information make selections and enter information The location of all the monitor functions are shown on the following page Test Strip Port After the operator scans the barcode or manually enters information via the monitor keypad the operator will insert a new test strip into the test strip port to perform a test Display Here is where menu options error codes and test results are viewed Press and hold 9 on the keypad to turn on or off the backlight for the monitor display Keypad The keypad contains the following controls On Off Press this button to turn the monitor on or off The monitor will auto matically turn off after 4 minutes if the monitor is left on but has not been used Scan Press the Scan button to use the laser barcode scanner The barcode scanner enables the operator to scan the information into the monitor instead of manually entering the data by using the keypad The scanner can automatically enter the test strip information calibration control range lot number and expiration date as well as the operator ID patient ID and control lot number Manual entry of strip lots with alpha numeric barcodes is not supported
