9. my system What are the recommended tips when setting up my system There are several tips outlined below that will assist you in setting up your system Connecting and Mounting Cameras 1 Connect the DIN Extension Cable to an open channel port on the back of the System Make sure that the ARROW on the cable is pointing up This will align the pins on the cable correctly with the port on the stem preventing the pins from becoming bent and the cable from becoming inoperable 2 Connect one of the provided Cameras to the DIN Extension cable Confirm that the arrows on the DIN Camera Cable and the DIN Extension cable are pointed together when connecting the cable If the pins in the DIN Cable are bent the Camera will NOT function 3 Mount the camera to the desired surface ceiling wall shelf etc Connecting the cables BEFORE permanently mounting the stand will help prevent issues with cable length camera is mounted too far from the system and cannot be connected 4 Aim the camera at the desired location Remember to REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE FILM from the lens of the camera by pulling on the plastic tab Navigating within the System Menu e Enter the MENU screen by pressing the MENU button Enter the password if required and MENU select the SYSTEM SETUP option ADMIN e The Setup Menu controls the System Settings Recording Settings and Archive e Scroll through the options by pressing the UP DOWN LEFT and RIG
