1. GEM BOX BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY Fig 2 ASSEMBLY v FIXTURE WIREWAY OPENING ASSEMBLY rr BATTERY NUTS2. E BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY should be leveled horizontally and outlet box completely covered before final tightening to wall WIRING PROCEDURE 1 Puli supply wires through WIREWAY OPENING and make connections gt Black fixture lead or fixture lead without tracer mark to black supply lead white fixture lead or fixture lead with tracer mark to white supply wire Uninsulated wire is a GROUND WIRE and must be connected to a grounding terminal or ground wire in the OUTLET BOX Use wire nuts local hardware item Push the splices into the OUTLET BOX 2 Raise FIXTURE ASSEMBLY and align MOUNTING STUD HOLES and SOCKET HOLES with SOCKETS and MOUNT STUDS on BACKPLATE Gently slide FIXTURE ASSEMBLY backwards until the MOUNTING STUDS protrude through the holes in FIXTURE ASSEMBLY Secure in place with BATTERY NUTS provided CAUTION MAKE CERTAIN THAT NO WIRES ARE PINCHED BETWEEN THE BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY AND THE FIXTURE ASSEMBLY 3 From top of fixture position DIFFUSER DISHES over circular openings as shown in Fig 4 and gently lower until dishes sit securely in each opening 4 Cover INSPECTION WINDOW with INSPECTION COVER PLATE and secure with screws Fig 4 5 Install recommended lamps CAUTION MAXIMUM WATTAGE AS MARKED ON FIXTURE MUST NOT BE EXCEEDED FOR HORIZONTAL MOUNTING ONLY A SS E Front View OCTAGONAL BOX BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY MOUNTING HOLE OUTLETBOX COVERPLATE DIFFUSER Fig 1 eo WIREWAY OPENING 0O O 20 X

READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING FIXTURE INSTRUCTION SHEET NO This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local tegulations To assure full compliance with local codes and regulations check with your local electrical I S 54 5 3 inspector before installation To prevent electrical shock turn off electricity at fuse box before proceeding Retain these instructions for maintenance reference 1291 fi INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF 5453 CAUTION DO NOT MOUNT TOP EDGE OF FIXTURE CLOSER THAN 6 INCHES TO CEILING FOR OCTAGONAL OUTLET BOXES 1 Position BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY centered over OUTLET BOX with bottom edge of BACKPLATE in line with bottom of OUTLET BOX Fig 1 2 Using ali MOUNTING HOLES in BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY secure to wall using wood screws toggle bolts or alternate fasteners not provided depending on wall material NOTE BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY should be leveled horizontally and outlet box completely covered before final tightening to wall FOR HORIZONTALLY MOUNTED RECTANGULAR GEM OR SWITCH OUTLET BOXES 1 Remove COVER PLATE from BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY as shown in Fig 3 2 Position BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY centered over OUTLET BOX with bottom edge of BACKPLATE in line with bottom of OUTLET BOX Fig 2 3 Using all MOUNTING HOLES in BACKPLATE ASSEMBLY secure to wall using wood screws toggle bolts or alternate fasteners not provided depending on wall material NOT
