5. e the thermometer in any liquid HOW TO TAKE TEMPERATURE 1 Place a probe cover carefully over the tip see figure on right Sdect ord underarm or rectal as your meesurement site see following instructions 2 Firmly push the START button The thermometer will beep and the display will read 188 8 FM This is a function check indicating the unit is working properly If a previous reading is stored in memory the thamoneter will display the last temperature for three seconds The nignt glow feature automaticaly lights up when the thermometer is turned on 3 The F or C symbol will flash when the unit is ready to mesure tarpeaure VW indicetes alow battery Replace battery see Changing the Battery section for accurate measurement An ERR message in the window indicates your unit is not functioning proper ly Ensure thet the batteries are instdled correctly and review instruc tions for proper operation 4 When peek temperature is reached the F or C symbol will stop flashing and the thermometer will beep repeatedly It is not necessary to hear the beep to ensure the peek temperature has been reached When the F or C symbol stops flashing and the display reads a consistent temperature the peak temperature has been reached 5 Read and record the tanperature and time for reference The reading will automatically be stored in the memory until another reading is taken or the batteries are removed from the
