1. 6 5 Programming a track list You can program a track list with up to 16 tracks To do this the CD has to be stopped When a CD is inserted Press MEMORY The display now shows Pr 01 indicating the first memory position of the track list followed by the number of the track already allocated to this position Use or the button you can now select the track to be played first Now press again to save the selected track in position 1 of the pro grammed track list Call the next program position by pressing SKIP gt gt jor SKIP lt lt The display now shows the number of the next memory position Now select the track from the CD that you want to program in this track position o using SKIP gt gt or SKIP lt lt Now press MEMORY to save this track in the positi on previously selected You can check your program track list by pressing MEMORY to scan through all occupied track positions 6 6 Playing a track list If you have programmed a playlist play as described in 6 5 Press PLAY PAUSE to start the pro grammed playlist Note The programming information all 16 track positions is deleted as soon as the CD tray is opened or the CD is stopped and STOP W is pressed 6 7 Repeat function If during playback of a track or track list O you press sua e Once the current track is repeated REPEAT flashes on

CDs as well as CD R RW recorded in audio format Select the CD FUNCTION switch 6 1 Inserting extracting a CD Keep the CD drive closed unless you are inserting or removing a CD to prevent dust from penetrating the device Apply gentle pressure to the CD drive until you can hear it unlock and it opens automatically e You can now insert the CD with the prin ted side facing upwards The CD is ready for playing when the dis play shows the number of tracks on the CD and the total playing time The CD is not ready for playing as long as the word disc is displayed If this continu es for some time then the CD cannot be read correctly check that the CD has been inserted the right way round and it is in good condition 6 2 Play Pause If you press o e Fora short time the CD will start The display shows the track number and track length of the track being played e Press again while a track is being played to pause playback immediately press again to continue playing the track from the position was paused 6 3 Track selection fast for ward If you press SKIP gt gt or SKIP lt lt e briefly you jump one track up or down e hold the button pressed to scan through the track forwards or back wards fast forward backwards 6 4 Stop If you press oe e Once the CD stops playing the current track e Twice the programmed track list is ele ted as described in chapter 6 5
3. equipped with a FUNCTION sliding switch for all three modes The device is switched on and is consu ming electricity when the switch is switched tO x e Radio for radio mode e CD for CD mode The device is switched off when the switch is switched to position e TAPE POWER OFF This also the position for tape mode In this position the device consumes near to no electrici ty as long as none of the tape operating keys are pressed 4 2 Adjusting the volume Turn the volume control clockwise lou der or anti clockwise quieter 4 3 Bass booster function Use the BASS BOOST switch to activa te or deactivate the Bass booster func tion 5 Radio mode Select Radio on the FUNCTION sliding switch 5 1 Channel search Chose a reception bandwidth By pres sing the button you can switch between e FM for VHF reception or e MW AM for med wave reception To search the bandwidth press the button O TUNINGA to search forwards or TUNING Y to search backwards over the entire reception range If you apply pressure to the buttons for lon ger than a second the device will start an automatic channel search As soon as a channel with sufficient reception quality has been found the automatic search stops immediately Tip When in VHF reception FM mode you will achieve better reception quality by put ting the antenna at an angle Then turn the antenna until the best

6. he recording volume is controlled automatically and is not determined by the volume control switch 7 4 Recording from CD Select the CD switch O Press and simultaneously Il the PAUSE key The device is now rea dy to record Press deactivate again as soon as the CD is started Press PAUSE again to interrupt recor ding E Press STOP EJ to stop recording Note The recording volume is controlled automatically and is not determined by the volume control switch 8 Cleaning and maintenance Never open the device housing There are no operating elements inside An opened device housing could cause potential life endangerment through electric shock Before cleaning the outside of the device e First remove the mains connector from the mains socket Select the TAPE FUNCTION to order to switch the device off e f batteries are installed remove them This may cause some or all preset radio stations to be lost e Close all openings i e the battery com partment tape and CD trays 8 1 External cleaning e Clean all outside surfaces with a moist but not wet cloth e Do not use any sort of aggressive clea ning fluids These could damage the external plastic housing 8 2 Cleaning the cassette unit This could be necessary if you notice the tape sound becoming slightly muffled after several weeks use If you are sure the tape is not the cause of this problem e Clean the tape heads and mechanism

8. reception is found For medium wave AM reception the devi ce uses the internal antenna Turn the entire appliance until you achieve the best recepti on result 5 2 Mono Stereo When a program is broadcast on the VHF range in stereo 57 is displayed on the devi ce while 7 amp 78 appears for Mono broad casts Should the stereo reception crackle due to bad reception O press the ST MONO button to switch between the two modes 5 3 Storing a channel You can store a total of 15 channels When you have found a channel you would like to store press The display shows the number of the first memory position and the ETER indicator flashes You can now browse through the memory positions by pressing the button When the desired memory number appears on the display hold the button depressed until the ETOR indicator stops flas hing The channel is now stored Already occupied memory positions can be renewed at will 5 4 Stored channels Call up When in the normal reception mode you can browse through the 15 stored channels bys 6 pressing the button The channels are activated one after the other Note The channels are saved for a few minutes in the event of a power cut or when changing the batteries If the device goes without power for a longer time peri od then the memory positions will be lost 6 CD mode When this function is selected you can listen to normal Audio
9. ries must not be disposed of in the normal rubbish bin Always return used batteries to the retail outlet or other collection points for disposal 3 2 Connecting the power cable Insert the power cable in the power socket on the device and then insert the mains power plug in the mains socket 3 3 Connecting the antenna The device is equipped with an internal antenna for medium wave AM reception A telescopic antenna provides FM recep tion 3 4 Connecting the headphones Headphones should have an internal resi stance impedance of 32 ohm and be equipped with a 3 5mm stereo jack Warning Never connect the headphones to the device when you are already wearing them You can severely damage your ears if the volume is set at a high level Always ensure that the volume control is turned to quiet then insert the connection plug into the socket provided for the headphones The internal loudspeakers are disabled as soon as the headphone connection plug is placed in the socket When the headphone plug is removed the speakers will be reactivated which can lead to an unexpected volume level if the volume was turned to high when using the headphones For this reason the volume level should be lowered before the headphone plug is removed from the socket 4 Operation This section applies when the device has been connected as described in chapter 3 4 1 Switching the device on off The device is

11. the display e Twice the entire CD or track list is repeated REPEAT is displayed conti nuously during playback e Three times the repeat function is deactivated REPEAT is no longer dis played 7 Tape mode You can play all standard tapes as well as record from the radio and from CDs Select TAPE on the FUNCTION switch 7 1 Inserting extracting a tape Keep the tape deck closed unless you are inserting or removing a tape to prevent dust from penetrating the device Press the STOP EJ button until you can hear the tape door unlocking and it opens automatically e Now insert the tape with the mechanism facing down e Then close the tape deck again 7 2 Using the tape unit Warning Always press the STOP EJ but ton first and let the tape stop before you switch modes This will prevent damage and the device wearing out prematurely The button symbols mean the following for tape mode gt play a tape u stop start pause gt gt fast forward lt lt REW rewind o record E stop and eject tape The tape stops automatically at the end of the tape Remove the tape turn it over and replace to play or record on the other side 7 3 Recording from the radio Select RADIO on the FUNCTION switch When you find a radio station you want to record from O Press RECORDIto start recording Il Press PAUSE to pause the recording E Press STOP EJ to stop recording Note T
12. with special tape cleaning materials from specialist retailers never use any sort of tools This could damage the device 8 3 Cleaning the CD unit The CD player should not become dirty from normal use Cleaning may be neces sary if exceptionally dirty CDs are used or the CD tray is not closed and dust enters the system Avoid dirt contamination by wiping dusty CDs with a soft dry cloth wiping from the inside to the outside of the CD If a CD cannot be played or sounds faulty although it is in good condition Clean the lense and mechanism with a cleaning CD from a specialist retailer never use any other sort of tool This could damage the device 9 Trouble shooting If a thorough cleaning of the CD or tape unit does not resolve the problem it may not be caused by dirt contamination but could a problem with the device e In this case please return the device to our customer service center If confusing symbols appear on the display it is possible that the device s internal ope rating system has crashed e Disconnect the power cable and e Remove the batteries from the battery compartment This may cause some or all preset radio stations to be lost 10 Wait a few minutes before restarting the device If the situation has not been resol ved by this measure the device may be faulty e In this case please return the device to our customer service center 10 Disposal Before you dispos
