If searching finishes at once PS and RT will not appear on the display 14 Searching for a Program Codes One of the advantages of the RDS service is that you can locate a particular kind of program from the preset channels see page 13 by specifying the PTY codes To stop searching any time during the process press PTY SEARCH while searching When pressing the buttons on the remote control make sure that you have selected the FM station using the remote control If not the RDS operation buttons do not work for RDS operation Pressing FM AM activates the remote control for RDS operation To search for a program using the PTY codes Before you start remember The PTY Search is only applicable to preset stations only There is a time limit in doing the following steps If the setting is canceled before you finish start from step 1 again PTY SEARCH KS On the front panel 1 Press PTY SEARCH while listening to an FM station PTY SELECT flashes on the display 2 Press and hold cursor control lt gt on the front panel or on the remote control until the PTY code you want appears on the display while SELECT is flashing The display gives you the PTY codes described to the right v XD On the front panel PTY SEARCH E On the front panel 3 Press PTY SEARCH again while the PTY code sele

FM Antenna Extend the supplied FM antenna horizontally D N Handling the receiver Do not insert any metal object into the receiver Do not disassemble the receiver or remove screws covers or cabinet Do not expose the receiver to rain or moisture 8111 Checking the Supplied Accessories LOOP E Outside FM Antenna Cable EXT Check to be sure you have all of the following items which are supplied with the receiver The number in the parentheses indicates quantity of the pieces supplied A Using the Supplied FM Antenna The FM antenna provided can be connected to the FM 750 Remote Control 1 COAXIAL terminal as temporary measure B Using the Standard Type Connector Not Supplied A standard type connector IEC or DIN45325 should be connected to the FM 75 COAXIAL terminal e Batteries 2 MW LW Loop Antenna 1 Note If reception is poor connect the outside antenna Before attaching a 750 coaxial cable the kind with a round wire going to an outside antenna disconnect the supplied FM antenna FM Antenna 1 If anything is missing contact your dealer immediately MW LW Antenna Connections Snap the tabs on the loop into the Gila slots of the base to assemble the 750 COAXIAL AM MW LW loop Outdoor single vinyl co

11. 1 to set it in the ON position and press SPEAKERS 2 to set it in the OFF position use the speakers connected to the FRONT SPEAKERS 2 terminals press SPEAKERS 2 to set it in the ON position and press SPEAKERS 1 to set it in the OFF position To use both sets of the speakers press SPEAKERS 1 to set it in the ON position and press SPEAKERS 2 to set it in the ON position To use neither set of the speakers press SPEAKERS 1 and SPEAKERS 2 to set them in the OFF position Note When only one set of the speakers is connected to either the FRONT SPEAKERS or terminals do not activate both pairs of the speakers If you do no sound comes out of the front speakers Listening only with headphones 1 Connect a pair of headphones to the PHONES jack on the front panel 2 Press SPEAKERS 1 and SPEAKERS 2 to set them in the M OFF position CAUTION Be sure to turn down the volume before connecting or putting on headphones as high volume can damage both the headphones and your hearing Note You cannot shut off the sound through the other speakers using the SPEAKERS 1 and 2 buttons Muting the Sound From the remote control ONLY Press MUTING to mute the sound through all speakers and headphones connected MUTING appears on the display and the volume turns off the volume level indicator goes ff MUTING d o To restore the sound press MUTING again so that OFF

14. indication of the disc information Press A V to move to a searched disc then press lt Each time you press lt the disc information alternates between its disc title and its performer Going to the Disc Information screen see page 29 Press A V to move C to a searched disc then press ON SCREEN SET Showing unseen disc information if more than 5 discs are listed as a result of the search Press A V until they appear Going back to the GENRE SEARCH screen Press ON SCREEN EXIT 3l Entering the Disc Information For the CD Player with the disc memory function You can use the disc memory function through this receiver The disc information its performer disc title and music genre of normal audio CDs will be stored into the memory built in the CD player For the disc memory function refer to the manual supplied with your CD player The performer disc title and music genre information are usually recorded in a CD Text However if a CD Text has no genre information recorded in the disc itself you can input its music genre by yourself Note You can enter the TITLE INPUT screens for a CD Text and input its titles However you cannot store the titles you have input for a CD Text Example Entering the following information for Disc 1 Performer MICHEAL Disc title MY FAVORITE 1 Press TEXT DISPLAY while CD is selected as the source The Dis

17. the same time 12 Em Receiving Radio Broadcasts You can browse through all the stations or use the preset function to go immediately to a particular station Tuning in Stations Manually On the front panel ONLY 1 Press FM AM to select the band The cursor control A V lt buttons can be now used for operating the tuner Each time you press the button the band alternates between FM and AM MW LW FM AM 2 Press cursor control A V repeatedly until TUNING appears on the display 3 Press cursor control lt until you find the frequency you want Pressing lt decreases the frequency SE eg Pressing gt increases the frequency Notes KS When you hold cursor control lt step 3 the frequency keeps changing until a station is tuned in When a station of sufficient signal strength is tuned in the TUNED indicator lights up on the display When an FM stereo program is received the STEREO indicator also lights up Using Preset Tuning Once a station is assigned to a channel number the station can be quickly tuned You can preset up to 30 FM and 15 AM MW LW stations In order to use the special functions available for RDS broadcasts you need to preset the RDS stations Both PTY Search and EON function see page 15 and 16 are applicable only to preset stations To store the preset stations Before you start remember
18. the tuner Each time you press the button the band alternates between FM and AM MW LW 4 LY XD a 2 Press cursor control A repeatedly until FM MODE appears on the display TUNED BESSER voume 3 Press cursor control lt gt to switch the FM reception AUTO or MONO v XD TUNED voume MUTE AUTO 25 8 5 n Ln AUTO When a program is broadcasted in stereo you will hear stereo sound when in monaural you will hear monaural sounds This mode is also useful to suppress static noise between stations The MUTE AUTO indicator lights up on the display MONO Reception will be improved although you will lose the stereo effect In this mode you will hear noise while tuning into the stations The MUTE AUTO indicator goes off on the display RDS allows FM stations to send an additional signal along with their regular program signals For example the stations send their station names as well as information about what type of program they broadcast such as sports or music etc When tuned to an FM station which provides the RDS service the RDS indicator lights up on the display With the receiver you can receive the following types of RDS signals PS Program Service Shows commonly known station names PTY Program Type Shows types of broadcast programs RT Radio Text Shows text m
