NOTES You must set the cable box brand for your remote control and the cable box brand for your Cable Box Controller t pg 17 individually Cable box brands available for the remote control differ from those available for the Cable Box Controller It is possible that the remote control will not operate your cable box even if the cable box s channels automatically change during timer recording using the Cable Box Controller Pee e i IP Wf le 49 Control Two JVC VCRs The supplied remote control is capable of controlling two JVC VCRs independently using the A B CODE switch You can set this VCR so it responds to remote commands only when the switch is set to B and another VCR so it responds to commands when the switch is set to A The switch is preset to A because this VCR normally responds to A code signals You can easily modify this VCR to accept B code commands UNPLUG VCR S POWER CORD Unplug from the AC outlet SET A B CODE SWITCH 2 Set the A B CODE switch on the remote control to B PLUG IN POWER CORD Plug back in to the AC outlet TURN VCR POWER ON 1 Press POWER on the remote The VCR will now respond only to B code commands Child Lock This feature allows you to prevent the operation of the VCR TURN VCR POWER ON 1 Press POWER ENGAGE CHILD LOCK Press and hold POWER on the remote control until the Child Lock indicator appears on the front display panel
5. pg 8 and Tuner pg 12 procedures If however you want to add or delete channels refer to Add Or Delete A Channel on page 14 ATTENTION CABLE BOX SUBSCRIBERS If you perform the Dual Quick Set procedure Select the PBS channel on your cable box before plugging your VCR s power plug into the AC outlet If you have more than one PBS channel you may have to select an alternative PBS channel if Dual Quick Set is not successful If there is no PBS channel in your area perform the Manual Clock Set procedure pg 11 e For automatic clock adjustment to take place the VCR s power must be off and the cable box must be set to the PBS channel at clock adjustment times If you perform Dual Quick Set successfully D S T will be set to AUTO At the D S T adjustment time pg 10 your VCR s power must be off and your cable box must be set to the host PBS channel in your area for the D S T adjustment to take place If the clock is not set correctly change the D S T setting to ON or OFF See step 6 of Semi Auto procedure pg 9 or step 3 of Manual procedure c pg 11 7 With the antenna cable connected the Dual Quick Set function allows the clock and tuner to be set automatically when the power plug is first connected to an AC outlet The time and date can be set automatically from clock setting data that is transmitted by one of the regular TV broadcast channels We call t
