Power lamp CAMERA charger indicator Lock lever with the Release button CONFIRM POWER OFF STATUS NOTE Make sure the camcorder s power is off Never touch the connector on the bottom of the M camcorder or on the AC Charger Station If the ATTACH AND LOCK pins are damaged the connectors will become Align the mark on the camcorder with the one unusable due to contact failure on the AC Charger Station and slide the camcorder to the AC Charger Station in the direction of the arrow Slide the lock lever on the AC Charger Station in the direction of the arrow until it clicks The camcorder and the AC Charger Station are now securely attached e When removing the camcorder press the Release button and slide the lock lever in the opposite direction of the arrow and detach the camcorder in the opposite direction of the arrow e The AC Charger Station cannot function using the camcorder s battery pack INFORMATION Charging The Camcorder Battery Pack If you attach the camcorder with the battery installed to the AC Charger Station you can charge the battery pack After doing steps 1 and 2 above plug the AC Charger Station s power cord into an AC outlet The AC Charger Station s CAMERA charger indicator starts blinking to indicate that charging has begun When it stops blinking but stays on charging is complete The charging time for one BN V607U battery pack is approx 100
4. 36 The LCD monitor or the viewfinder is made with high precision technology However black spots or bright spots of light red green or blue may appear constantly on the LCD monitor or the viewfinder These spots are not recorded on the tape This is not due to any defect of the unit Effective dots more than 99 99 37 e During playback of the unrecorded portion High speed Search and still playback LCD monitor indications appear distorted This is not a defect 39 eA malfunction of some kind has occurred In this case the camcorder s functions become unusable The temperature of the battery is UI high low e Charging is difficult in places subject to extremely high low temperatures This occurs when recording in the LP mode is not available After the indicator blinks the recording mode switches to SP and recording goes on The viewfinder is pulled out e The LCD monitor s bright ness setting is too dark This is not a malfunction 35 Re read the sections covering FADE WIPE P AE Effects and DIS F pgs 32 95 42 38 Check the section of the manual that explains LCD monitor viewfinder indica tions Cx pgs 79 81 39 Remove the power supply battery pack etc and press RESET button and wait a few minutes for the indication to clear When it does you can resume using the camcorder If the indication remains even though ise repeat the above two or t

7. 60e Dubbing EDITING You can copy recorded scenes from the camcorder onto a videotape Refer to your VCR s instruction manual for details Player Remote sensor Recorder VCR Recording deck MAKE CONNECTIONS Connect the AC Charger Station to your VCR as shown in the illustration on page 56 or 57 Please also refer to your VCR s instruction manual before dubbing START PLAYBACK Press the Play button gt to play back the source tape START RECORDING While watching on the connected TV engage your VCR s record mode from the spot on the source tape you want to begin recording PAUSE RECORDING Engage your VCR s pause mode to stop recording a segment END RECORDING Press the Stop button Bl to stop the source tape and engage the VCR s stop mode Ww lt gt gt WO Play button Power Dial Stop button Lock button IND ON OFF button NOTES e You can use Playback Zoom t pg 50 or Playback Effects C pg 51 in step 2 e Before you start dubbing make sure that the indications do not appear on the connected TV If they do appear during dubbing they are being recorded onto the new tape To clear the Playback Sound Mode Display press DISPLAY on the remote control e Select DISPLAY and TIME CODE from the Playback Menu C pg 52 to show or hide the Date Time and the Time Code on the recording e To show or hide all indications press the IND ON OFF

Charger Station s power cord in to an AC outlet The power lamp comes on ATTACH BATTERY Attach while making sure the marks are facing down and aligned with the correspond ing marks on the AC Charger Station indicate charging has started CONFIRM STATUS When the charger indicator stops blinking but stays lit charging is finished DETACH BATTERY Slide the battery in the direction of the arrow and lift off e Remember to unplug the AC Charger Station s power cord from an AC outlet Battery Approximate charging time AN VOIN 180 min optional SUPPLY POWER TO CHARGER NOTES e f you connect the camcorder s DC cord to the AC Charger Station during battery charging power is supplied to the camcorder and charging stops pg 10 e When using the AC Charger Station be sure to use the supplied power cord only e When charging the Battery Pack for the first time or after a long storage period the Charger Indicator may not light In this case remove the Battery Pack from the AC Charger Station then try charging again e Since the AC Charger Station processes electricity internally it becomes warm during use Be sure to use it only in well ventilated areas e f the battery operation time remains extremely short even after having been fully charged the battery is worn out and needs to be replaced Please purchase a new one INFORMATION The AC Charger Station provided enables you to

IND ON OFF button Record Standby Tally lamp NOTES e The image will not appear simultaneously in the SELECT OPERATION MODE Set the Power Dial to E while pressing down the lock button located on the dial LCD MONITOR Pull out the viewfinder fully or open the LCD monitor to approx 90 degrees on and the scene you re aimed at appears e The Record Standby mode is engaged START RECORDING When PAUSE appears press START STOP A beep signals the start of recording and the tally lamp comes on STOP RECORDING e The camcorder re enters Record Standby mode END RECORDING When you re finished recording push back the viewfinder or close the LCD monitor until it clicks the lens cover closes and the power lamp goes out is pushed back and the LCD monitor is closed and locked e To turn power on again pull out the viewfinder or open the LCD monitor OR Set the Power Dial to OFF press down the lock button PULL OUT VIEWFINDER OR OPEN e The lens cover opens the power lamp comes Press START STOP again to stop recording e When transporting make sure the viewfinder e When turning to OFF it is not necessary to en 19 LCD monitor and the viewfinder No image appears on the LCD monitor when the viewfinder is pulled out It is not possible to shoot using both LCD monitor and viewfinder If 5 minutes elapse in the Record Standby mode power shuts off automatically to cons

ON in the Date Time Menu The display appears on the connected TV e The Indicator Display function overrides these settings Even if you have set ON SCREEN to ON pressing the IND ON OFF button for longer than 1 second removes the indications from the screen Pressing it for longer than 1 second again makes the indications re appear 20n Scene 5 second recording RECORDING Advanced Features Cont Record a vacation or an important event in 5 second clips to keep the action moving The 5 Second function may also be activated during Full Auto operation But the White Balance remains in the previously adjusted condition While the 5 Second mode is activated Fade Wipe I pg 35 P AE Effects F pg 41 and other manual operations cannot be performed Lock button START STOP button Power Dial Dissolves during 5 second mode recording Select 5SD at the System Menu I pg 34 5SD MODE appears in step 2 below 5S MODE After 5 sec g MANUAL PAUSE Record one 5 second clip and the image at the end of the clip is stored If you record the next clip within 5 minutes the previous scene 5S MODE dissolves as the new scene appears e f you turn the power off the stored image will be lost SELECT OPERATION MODE Turn the Power Dial to 5S while pressing down the lock button located on the dial 2 PULL OUT VIEWFINDER OR OPEN LCD MONITOR Pull out the viewfinder
