DUB lt DV EN 45 Dubbing An Entire Cassette Because this recorder includes both VHS deck and DV deck you can easily use it for dubbing without connecting any other equipment 1l Load cassettes For the VHS deck Insert a VHS or S VHS cassette with the record safety tab removed For the DV deck Insert a Mini DV cassette with the erase protection switch set to REC 2 Select the dubbing direction Press 4m e The dubbing direction indicator lt VHS lights Set the tape speed Press DV then press SP LP Z e DV VHS appears on the TV screen if O S D is set to ON pg 69 4 Start dubbing Press DUB for more than two seconds e VHS playback indicator and DV recording indicator light e f the tapes have not been rewound both decks rewind automatically The DVdeck goes into Record Pause mode and the VHS deck goes into Pause mode When both decks have finished rewinding dubbing begins automatically After dubbing is completed the decks rewind both tapes automatically and eject them The recorder then shuts off NOTES e f you set the dubbing direction incorrectly you could erase an important recording that you wanted to copy It is recommended to conduct a test with unimportant cassettes first e t is impossible to view a satellite broadcast or a scrambled broadcast when the recorder is in the dubbing mode e f you st

12. by the satellite receiver e t is not possible to timer record the same programme on both the VHS deck and the DV deck simultaneously e During timer recording it is not possible to change the recording deck VHS or DV e f the times that are programmed for recording on the DV deck and on the VHS deck overlap the earlier start time takes precedence If the start times are the same the VHS deck takes precedence Satellite Receiver Users To timer record a satellite broadcast using Express Timer Programming 1 Perform Satellite Receiver Control Setting on page 17 Perform steps 1 13 In step 9 press the number key 0 to change TV PROG to SAT The front display panel shows L2 for the channel position Then press PR to enter the channel position for the satellite broadcast In step 11 you cannot set VPS PDC to ON 3 Leave the satellite receiver s power on VPS PDC Recording Now available from some TV stations PDC Programme Delivery Control and VPS Video Programme System are service designed to assure safe accurate timer recording With this system special code signals are transmitted together with the audio video signals These code signals control your video recorder and have precedence over the advertised times you may have preset into the timer This means that your recorder will start and stop recording when the preset TV programmes actually start and end even if the broadc
