1. AC Audio Video Cable supplied RF Cable supplied 75 ohm terminal Back of VCR NOTES e The VCR channel is the channel on the TV which will display the audio and video signals from the VCR The VCR s CH 3 CH4 switch on the back of the VCR sets the VCR channel to CH3 or CH4 e The CH3 CH4 switch is preset to the CH3 position Set to CH4 if CH3 is used for broadcasting in your area and set the channel on the TV to correspond to the VCR s CH3 CH4 switch setting e If RF connection to TV is used when switching from VCR to TV mode and from TV to VCR it may be necessary to issue a UP and then CH DOWN on TV to obtain a good quality picture e Even if you are using AV cables to connect your VCR to your TV you must also connect it using the RF cable This will ensure that you can record one show while watching another pg 37 e For full identification of the VCR s rear panel refer to the Index REAR VIEW F pg 63 U N INSTALLING YOUR NEW VCR CHECK CONTEN TS Make sure the package contains all of the accessories listed in SPECIFICATION S gt pg 65 SITUATE VCR Place the VCR on a stable horizontal surface CONNECT VCR TO TV The connection method you use depends on the type of TV you have RF Connection e To Connec

A DUB PLAY EN Ol EN GAGE IN SERT EDITIN G Press IN SERT Your VCR enters the Insert Pause mode REC PLAY and PAUSE light up on the front display panel The TV screen changes from the still picture to the input source you are going to record STA RT EDITIN G Load the source cassette and play back the segment that is to be inserted When you reach the start of the section of the source tape that you wish to insert press PLAY to start the tape in your VCR Insert Editing begins at this point PLAY and REC are displayed on the front display panel EN D IN SERT EDITIN 8 At counter 04001005 Insert Editing will stop automati cally while the tape continues running in the Play mode if you wish to stop Insert Editing before the specified edit out point press C RESET FOR AV INSERT EDITING If you want to replace the picture Hi Fi audio soundtrack and normal audio soundtrack all at the same time In step 6 above after you press INSERT press A DUB also REC and PLAY blink and PAUSE lights up on the display panel NOTES e Insert editing is not possible with cassettes whose safety tab has been removed e In insert editing the recording speed SP EP is determined by the previous recording to be replaced If the previous recording s speed changes within a single edit the inserted picture will be distorted at the switching point A small portion of the recording
