Macintosh NOTES Make sure to use the provided AC adapter AA V37 to power the camera when using camera connected to a personal computer When connecting the provided USB cable make sure to confirm the shape of the plug e When connecting the camera to a personal computer via a USB cable the personal computer is sometimes unable to recognize the device that is connected Therefore first turn both the camera and the personal computer on and then connect the USB cable Installing the USB Driver For details on the basic operation of Mac OS refer to the instruction manual provided with vour Macintosh or Mac OS Preparation Start Macintosh e If you are running other software close that software drive Double click on Driver folder USB Storage Shim E icons to the System Folder then drop the icon there appears Restart the computer Load the provided CD ROM to the CD ROM Di Driver JVC Video Decoder Double click on the loaded CD ROM icon Drag the JVC USB Storage Driver and JVC Click the OK button when the dialog box Apple Extras Assistants Utilities These items need to be stored inthe Extensions folder in order to be available to the computer Put these items into the Extensions folder T d File Edit View Empty

Video Playback EN OO You can watch the recorded video on the camera s LCD screen Turn the Power dial to 42 Hold the Lock button down while turning the Power dial VIDEO PB appears on the LCD panel The first frame of the video which has been most recently recorded appears on the LCD screen indexed display and then press the EXE button The still image of the selected video appears Select VIDEO PB with the MODE switch Press the DISPLAY button to switch to an Press the V IP button to select the video VIDEO PLAY 5 Press the EXE button to start playback Playback of the video starts To stop playback press the EXE button again To select and play back another video press the DISPLAY button while playback is in stop mode The indexed display will appear NOTES e The camera may not be able to play back a video recorded by other models of camera e The camera expands and plays back data that was compressed and stored in a memory card The data format is our own proprietary format e The image may have a mosaic appearance e When playing back a video that is shorter than 2 seconds the video is displayed as a still image This not a malfunction To hear the sound use the Video Player or JVC Video Decoder t pg 75 82 Sound will not be reproduced on the camera itself O4 en Display Mode during Playback To change the display

Turn the Power dial to V Hold the Lock button down while turning the Power dial VIDEO appears on the LCD panel To display the image on the LCD screen while shooting press the DISPLAY button 2 Press the Shutter button all the way to shoot the video e The flash standby lamp red lights during the video shooting e Video shooting will stop automatically after about 20 seconds NOW RECORDING appears on the LCD screen This may take several minutes 3 Press the Shutter button again to stop the video shooting before 20 seconds are up e While the video file is stored in the Memory card the flash standby lamp red flashes and then goes off when the recording has finished Do not operate the camera while the light flashes NOTES e Sound is also recorded It is not possible to use the flash for video shooting e It will take awhile to store a video file on a Memorv card e Vou can change the settings of Manual Focus pg 34 Iris Setting pg 35 Exposure Control pg 37 Macro Shooting pg 36 and Self Timer c pg 32 e You can change the settings of White Balance Adjustment pg 38 Sensitivity Setting pg 40 Changing the AF AE Area cv pg 43 and Restoring the Default Settings gt pg 44 ZOOM lever is not operational in Video Mode while shooting e It may not be possible to record properly when the battery is little left
