Notes e For DVD Video and DVD Audio discs when the soundtrack subtitle or camera angle is changed the setting is displayed onscreen for 10 seconds To cancel this display press the Display button twice e When playback is started paused stopped and so on the status is displayed onscreen for five seconds e For DVD VR discs the bit rate is not displayed e No information is displayed when playing a VCD with PBC UNS DPC 8 5DVD Changer Page51 Friday May 7 2004 4 57 PM Advanced Playback Continued Turning Off the Video Circuits You can turn off all of the internal video circuitry elimi nating the possibility of interference for a pure audio experience when playing audio only discs 1 Video Circuit Off Notes Press the DPC 8 5 s Video Cir cuit Off button The internal video circuitry is turned off the Video Circuit Off button indi cator lights up and the V OFF indicator appears on the display To turn the video circuitry back on press the button again The internal video circuitry is turned on the Video Circuit Off button indi cator goes off and the V OFF indicator disappears from the display e When the video circuitry is turned off none of the DPC 8 5 s video outputs work e With some discs you need start playback from a menu in which case you should turn off the video circuitry after starting playback e Although intended for use wit

Press the Setup button to exit the onscreen setup menu Notes e These settings are used only when the Progressive function is on Audio Menu Digital Out Digital1 OPTICAL With these settings you can determine how the DPC 8 5 outputs digital audio from its OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT The options you choose will depend on the type of component that you connect E Dolby Digital Out With this setting you can configure the OPTICAL DIG ITAL AUDIO OUTPUT to output Dolby Digital audio as it is or to downmix it into 2 channel PCM Dolby Digital default Choose this option if you re connecting a component with a built in Dolby Digital decoder Dolby Digital gt PCM Choose this option if you re connecting a stereo hi fi amp with a digital input an AV receiver with a built in Dolby Pro Logic decoder or an external D A converter E DTS Out With this setting you can configure the OPTICAL DIG ITAL AUDIO OUTPUT to output DTS audio as it is or to downmix it into 2 channel PCM DTS default Choose this option if you re connecting a component with a built in DTS decoder DTS gt PCM Choose this option if you re connecting a stereo hi fi amp with a digital input or an external D A converter E MPEG Out With this setting you can configure the OPTICAL DIG ITAL AUDIO OUTPUT to output MPEG audio as it is or to downmix it into 2 channel PCM MPEG Choose this option if you re connecting a component with
