2. the Trigger The machine will begin to operate imme diately NOTE To stop the machine remove your hand from the handle releasing the Trigger AN 9 Roll the Snow Thrower slowly for Safety Trigger ward over the snow Observe the di rection that the snow is being thrown If necessary stop working and ad just the throwing height or direction 10 Do not force the Snow Thrower through the snow Listen to the motor as you work If the motor slows down excessively pull the Snow Thrower back to allow the motor to regain speed and roll the machine forward at a slower rate 11 When you reach the end of a row be aware of where the thrown snow will go You may have to adjust your direc tion or the throwing height to manage the direction of thrown snow REV 11 04 SKU 91924 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 11 12 When you have finished blowing snow stop the machine To do this release your grip on the handle which will release the Trigger stopping the machine Disconnect the extension cords roll them up and store them for next use Move the Snow Thrower to a suitable storage location Brush or wipe off any snow or moisture before storing this tool Remember that storing this machine wet may cause dam age to it WARNING Snow ice and other materials may be ejected from this Snow Thrower at high speed Use extreme caution in managing the direction of materials thrown by this Snow Th

6. e Insulated Canadian Standards Association Underwriters Laboratories Inc Volts Alternating Current Amperes No Load Revolutions i per Minute RPM SKU 91924 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 9 UNPACKING When unpacking check to make sure that this product is in good condition and all the following are included If any parts are missing or broken please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible Snow Thrower Main Component Snow Thrower Handle 2 Locking Knobs ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS NOTE For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages refer to the Assembly Diagram on page 13 ook CAUTION Always make sure the Power Cord is unplugged from its electrical outlet prior to assembling or making any adjustments to the tool N Before using the Snow Thrower you must assemble the Handle Insert the upper part of the Handle into the lower part as in the photo There is an insertion mark on the handle Do not insert beyond the mark Be careful not to damage the electric cord inside the Handle Tighten the Knobs a To operate the Snow Thrower must have 110 120 VAC power Provide an extension cord not supplied of sufficient length and meeting the re quirements discussed in the previ ous section Be careful that the ex tension cord does not lie in open water or on wet surfaces Observe al

8. et If the tool should electrically malfunction or break down grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user reducing the risk of elec tric shock See Figure A 2 The grounding prong in the plug is connected through the green wire inside the cord to the grounding system in the tool The green wire in the cord must be the only wire connected to the tool s grounding system and must never be attached to an electrically live terminal See Figure A 3 Your tool must be plugged into an appropriate outlet properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances The plug and outlet should look like those in the following illustration See Figure A FIGURE A SKU 91924 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 7 DOUBLE INSULATED TOOLS TOOLS WITH TWO PRONG PLUGS 4 Tools marked Double Insulated do not require grounding They have a special double insulation system which satisfies OSHA requirements and complies with the applicable standards of Underwriters Laboratories Inc the Canadian Standard Association and the National Electrical Code See Figure B on Double insulated tools may be used in either of the 120 volt outlets shown in the following illustration See Figure B FIGURE B EXTENSION CORDS 1 Grounded tools require a three wire extension cord Double Insulated tools can use either a two or three wire extension cord 2 As t
9. he distance from the supply outlet increases you must use a heavier gauge extension cord Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage See Figure C next page 3 The smaller the gauge number of the wire the greater the capacity of the cord For example a 14 gauge cord can carry a higher current than a 16 gauge cord See Figure C 4 When using more than one extension cord to make up the total length make sure each cord contains at least the minimum wire size required See Figure C 5 lf you are using one extension cord for more than one tool add the nameplate amperes and use the sum to determine the required minimum cord size SKU 91924 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 8 6 lf you are using an extension cord outdoors make sure it is marked with the suffix W A W in Canada to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use T Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified electrician before using it 8 Protect your extension cords from sharp objects excessive heat and damp or wet areas RECOMMENDED MINIMUM WIRE GAUGE FOR EXTENSION CORDS 120 VOLT NAMEPLATE AMPERES At Full Load Based on limiting the line voltage drop FIGURE C to five volts at 150 of the rated amperes Doubl
10. l safety precautions mentioned in this manual 4 If the Snow Thrower gets locked up with ice or operates slowly or with difficulty stop using immediately Assembling the Handle Unplug the Snow Thrower and move it to a slightly warm garage or other room where any water will be able to drain away from the Thrower without damaging the room Ensure that all snow and water has completely melted and the Thrower has dried before use 5 You can adjust the height of the thrown material among three settings High Me dium or Low You do this by raising or lowering the height of the Rear Wheels which changes the angle of the Snow Thrower SKU 91924 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 10 6 To change the angle that the snow Is ejected rotate the Height Control Lever to unlock it Then press down or pull up on the Handle as needed to move the unit to the desired setting Rotate the Height Control Lever to lock the unit into its new setting 7 You can adjust whether the snow is ejected forward or to the left or right To change the angle at which snow is Height Control ejected push the Direction Control Lever A down slightly rotate it to the left right or center as required then allow it to come Nae back up This will change the orientation BH eio 1 Ges pal of the Direction Flaps as desired Lever 8 To operate the Snow Thrower grasp the Handle firmly Press in the Safety and while holding it in squeeze
