GE Lighting Solutions READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING A WARNING Risk of electric shock e Turn power off before servicing see instructions GENERAL This luminaire is designed for use in outdoor applica tions and must adhere to 25 C Max ambient temperature limitation Install and maintain it according to the follow ing recommendations GLOBE See caution note concerning glass globes TYPE II LENS optional Install before lamp Align for desired distri bution and secure with supplied clamp SY WAS n Lg fe A SN ST 2 7 8 to LATCH GLOBE gt SET SCREWS Tighten to lightly contact globe only MOUNTING SET SCREWS Tighten to 18 to 22 inch pounds torque top tenon CAPTIVE SCREW Required for Americana GEH 5835 INSTRUCTIONS Edison IV Americana Luminaire A CAUTION Unit will fall if not installed properly e Follow installation instructions Caution only globes equivalent in weight to those of polycarbonate are recommended for use with this fixture If a heavier globe such as glass is used it must be removed before swinging base open to access photo control ballast amp etc SOCKET Mogal base lamps should be tightened to 35 inch pounds torque ELECTRICAL DISCONNECT Do not disturb unless removing the ballast tray BALLAST CANISTER For multivolt ballasts see instructions above TETHER Do not remove TERMINAL B2. OARD Photo control Receptacle Install PE control after connecting power leads to teminal board Mount with Photo control window aimed away from other light sources 3 3 8 Diameter pole NEUTRAL Optional Set Screws Included These instructions do not purport to cover all details or variations in equipment nor to provide for every possible contingency to be met in connection with installation operation or maintenance Should further information be desired or should particular problems arise which are not covered sufficiently for the purchaser s purposes the matter should be referred to GE Lighting Solutions WIRING Make all electrical connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable local code requirements Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it to nameplate IF SINGLE VOLTAGE All single voltage ballasts are pre wired such that user need only connect the supply conductors IF MULTIVOLT 120 208 240 277 volts Connect the ballast lead with the insulated terminal to the desired voltage terminal as indicated on the ballast terminal nameplate IF MULTIWATT Multiwatt ballasts are available in various combinations of wattage See wiring instructions on wiring tag inside the luminaire LAMPS CAUTION Risk of burn e Allow lamp fixture to cool before handling Use only lamps specified on nameplate Observe lamp manufacturer s recommend
