Deleting a Record 1 Find the record you want following Steps 1 5 in Finding and Viewing Records 2 Tap DEL DELETE Y N appears on the screen 3 Tap Y to delete the record Tap N to cancel the deletion Using Extra Programs The Extra Programs menu has four items INTERNET MGR Internet Manager EXPENSE MGR Expense Manager CARB LIST Carbohydrate List and EXTRA CON TENT For information on Internet Manager and Expense Manager please see Using Organizer Programs Viewing the Carbohydrate List You can view the carbohydrate content of 100 favorite food items 1 Turn the dial down until is next to CARB LIST 2 Press the dial in to select it 3 Turn the dial down to scroll the list or type a letter to go to the first food item starting with that letter 4 Press the dial in to select an item 5 Turn the dial to scroll down Press 4 to scroll left or right Using Extra Content Extra Content is included on the Rolodex Electronics Desktop Manager CD and will be stored on your PC when you install the Desktop Manager Both RT 8212 and RT 8214 come with a U S Spell Checker a Foreign Language Phrase Book and a Currency Metric Converter A Thesaurus and a 6 Language Translator are also included with the RT 8214 The extra content is automatically stored on your PC hard drive when you install the Rolodex Electronics Desktop Manager You must upload the content to your device before you can view it You can upl

Tap a program key or select the program you want For To Do Internet Manager and Expense Manager go to Step 4 2 Type the name you want 3 Push the dial in to start the search The closest matching record is dis played If no matching record is found an error message is displayed 4 Turn the dial up down or use A w to Scroll through the list of matches 5 When you see the record you want push the dial in to view the fields 6 Turn the dial up down or use A w to Scroll through the fields Only fields with data in them are dis played When data scrolls off the screen tap gt to view it Tap and hold 4 to scroll to the left or right Using the Tabs to Find a Contact Record 1 Tap or select CONTACT FILE 2 Turn the dial to move through the letter tabs 3 When the one you want is highlighted press the dial in 4 To view the record follow Steps 4 6 in Finding and Viewing Records Editing a Record 1 Find the record you want following Steps 1 5 in Finding and Viewing Records 2 Tap EDIT The first character in the first field blinks 3 Turn the dial up down or use until you find the field you want to edit As the device is now in Edit mode all fields are displayed Enter your changes Use 9 4 to move the blinking cursor right or left Tap INS to insert one letter before the blinking character Tap DEL to delete the blinking character 4 Tap SAVE at any time to save your changes

T 8212 users can upgrade to a serial to USB cable if you have a USB port on your PC Please see package insert for details To install the Desktop Manager on your PC 1 Insert the Rolodex Electronics Desktop Manager CD into the CD ROM drive on your PC The Setup screen appears If this screen DOES NOT launch auto matically follow these steps Goto Start Run Type d autorun and press ENTER 2 Select the Install Rolodex Electronics Desktop manager box Select your model number if needed To install ntellisync Mobile Desktop select the corresponding box If you are using a serial to USB cable please select the Install the USB Drive box 3 Select a language if necessary Follow the instructions on the screen to install the program 4 Click the Finish button when done For information on the Rolodex Electronics Desktop Manager please refer to the README file on the CD and the online help in the pro gram Note When synchronizing records you must delete your File Lock on your device if you want your locked files to be synchronized Please see Deleting a File Lock for more information Replacing the Battery The RT 8212 uses two CR 2032 lithium batter ies and the RT 8214 uses 3 CR 2032 lithium batteries Replace the batteries as soon as the WARNING LOW BATTERY message appears Warning Please turn the unit off before removing the batteries When batteries are removed the unit will revert to

15. mbol It must be a letter or a number Use 4 gt to move the flashing cursor left or right 4 Tap w or turn the dial down once to move to each consecutive field and enter data in the fields you want When data scrolls off the screen tap gt to view it You need not enter data in every field In some programs the last field is FILE LOCK You can only lock a file if you entered a File Lock in the System Setup menu To lock a particular record enter the same File Lock number that you did in the System Setup menu and tap Y If you enter a different number Invalid entry appears on the screen and you return to the FILE LOCKS screen It is not necessary to lock a record to save it 5 Tap SAVE at any time to save the record Finding and Viewing Records Contacts are sorted alphabetically Scheduled Events with alerts are stored in chronological order from the oldest to the newest New events are stored in numeric and then alphabetical order The To Dos with priority levels are sorted by level Those without priority level are sorted as priority 3 Records in the Internet Manager are stored alphabetically and records in the Expense Manager are stored chronologically To find a record you can type the first few letters or numbers of the record you are looking for In the Contact File you can also use the tabs at the top of the screen to find the records starting with a letter or number Typing Letters to find a Record 1
16. oad only one translator at a time When you upload a second one the first one is overwritten To learn how to upload these to your device please refer to the Desktop Manager online help Select EXTRA CONTENT on the EXTRA PROGRAMS menu The screen you see depends on the con tent you have installed Note If you have not downloaded any content you see the message No Content is Installed 2 Type a word or select a language direc tion If you have the converter then enter your numbers for the conversion 3 Follow the screen prompts to find what you are looking for 4 Tap any mode key to exit the reference product Installing the Rolodex Electronics Desktop Manager The Rolodex Electronics Desktop Manager is the PC software program that transfers data between your Rolodex device and a personal computer PC You can synchro nize MS Outlook 97 98 2000 2002 and Intellisync Mobile Desktop files or add con tent to the Rolodex device Note You must install the Desktop Manager software before connecting your device to your PC The Desktop Manager has the following sys tem requirements IBM compatible PC Windows 98 SE Me 2000 or XP English French or German version 64 MB RAM 256 Color VGA Monitor 30 MB hard disk space CD ROM drive for installation One free serial communications COM port for RT 8212 or USB port for RT 8214 Mouse or other pointing device R
