1. 1x is powered by an external 12 to 52 volt phantom power supply only The electronics circuitry is wrapped with an in sulated copper foil for superior emi rfi at tenuation This module is enclosed in a housing of high strength polycarbonate resin forming a package that is lightweight but extremely durable for long reliable use Operation To operate the HM1x use high quality bal anced cable with XLR connectors to con nect the electronics housing to the mixer input which is providing the phantom power The connecting cable used should be standard two conductor shielded type the shield is used as ground return and must be properly connected to avoid electrical noise Uniform Limited Warranty Electro Voice products are guaranteed against malfunction due to defects in materials or work manship for a specified period as noted in the individual product line statement s below or in the individual product data sheet or owner s manual beginning with the date of original pur chase If such malfunction occurs during the specified period the product will be repaired or replaced at our option without charge The ee IVAW 4 Headset Microphone product will be returned to the customer pre paid Exclusions and Limitations The Lim ited Warranty does not apply to a exterior fin ish or appearance b certain specific items de scribed in the individual product line statement s below or in the individual product data sheet

ElecioVojc e EEE HM1x Headset Microphone e Lightweight just 1 3 ounces less cable e Behind the head headband is comfortable and stays in place e Cardioid pickup pattern ensures good gain before feedback e Frequency response and proximity effect similar to handheld vocal mics e Phantom powered Description and Applications The Electro Voice HM1x headset microphone is the ideal microphone for anyone who requires high quality vocals in a hands free application The HM x is perfect for use by lead vocalists singing instrumentalists dancers aerobic instruc tors and other presenters The HM1x has a miniature noise cancelling electret condenser element designed with a car dioid polar pattem which attenuates background noises such as sound from nearby floor moni tors on stage musica instruments and crowd noise The furnished open pore windscreen slips over the microphone element to reduce wind noise and minimize P popping the excessive explosive breath noise caused by overempha sized p and t sounds The Electro Voice HM1x headset microphone employs a comfortable and inconspicuous behind the head headband and flexible boom arm in an attractive nonreflective black matte finish The flexible boom which descends from the right of the headband is enclosed with pro tective shrink tubing to shield the boom arm from deterioration and to prevent the flexible tube from catching on facial hair The facial f
3. eatures of the performer or speaker will not be obstructed due to the HM1x s unobtrusive design The headband and microphone boom adjust to fit any performer or speaker The HM Ix is designed to have a frequency re sponse similar to a handheld vocal microphone The HM1x headset exhibits bass boost prox imity effect warmth that many vocalists prefer The amount of proximity effect can be adjusted by moving the microphone element closer or farther away from the mouth The HM 1x is attached to the electronics mod ule by a 1 5 m 5 ft two conductor shielded cable Microphone Placement Place the curved portions of the headset over your ears with the microphone positioned to the right side of your mouth The flexible boom allows adjustment relative to the right comer of your mouth To find the optimum location of the microphone perform the following steps during the sound check 1 Center the microphone element in front of the nght comer of your mouth by bending the flexible boom up or down 2 If P popping is detected bend the flexible boom and move the microphone element fur ther away from your mouth 3 If the sound is thin and weak move the mi crophone element closer to your mouth and try raising or lowering the microphone ele ment Experiments indicate that the best control of P popping is to position the microphone ele ment off to the side of the mouth away from the center Powering the HM1x The HM
