1. S VIDEO INPUT mue Video Disc Player AUDIO INPUT VIDEO INPUT a Video Cassette Recorder AUDIO INPUT EXTERNAL SPEAKER TERMINAL AUDIO MONITOR R L OUTPUT SPEAKER o AUDIO SPEAKER ETERNA oO INPUT OUTPUT a AIR FILTER CARE AND CLEANING The removable air fiter prevents dust from accumulating on the surface of the projection lens and LCD panel Should the air fiter become clogged with dust particles it will reduce the cooling fan s effectiveness and may result in internal heat built up and reduce the life of the projection lamp To clean the air fiter follow the cleaning procedures below 1 Tum the POWER LAMP ON OFF button OFF 2 Remove the air fitr cover from the front of the projector 3 Remove the air fiter and sponge from the filer cover 4 Clean the air fiter and sponge with a vacuum cleaner 5 Replace the air fiter and sponge Make sure that air filler cover is fully inserted Do not clean with water Doing so may damage the air fiter Do not operate the projector with air fiter removed AIR FILTER AND SPONGE ARFILTER COVER LAMP REPLACEMENT amp TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATORS LAMP REPLACEMENT INDICATOR When the lamp nears the end of its service lite the picture quality and colour quality will deteriorate and the lamp replacement indicator will light orange DO TO REMOVE OR CHANGE THE PROJECTION LAMP THE LAMP CAN ONLY BE CHANGED BY QUAL

Press the POWER LAMP ON OFF button on the projector or on the remote control unit to ON Then press the VCP POWER button on the built in VCP or on the remote control unit to ON The VCP POWER and indicators will Ights RED The VCP is in the VCP power on condition VCP Stand by VCP POWER indicator s FAT Cond on wil ight RED VOR Power on VCP POWER and ON Condition Indicators will light RED AUTO POWER ON The VCP power is automatically swiched on as a cassette is inserted while the VCP is in the stand by condition COLOUR SYSTEM The builtin VCP can play back three types of tapes The tapes recorded in the PAL format the MESECAM format Middle East Secam and in the NTSC format Before beginning the playback ol a tape be sure to set the colour system switch on the front of the VCP as indicated in the table Tape Projector VCP colour format colour system system PAL AUTOorPAL PAL NTSC AUTOoNTSC NTSC1 AUTO or PAL NTSC2 MESECAM AUTO or SECAM MESECAM Notes cassette recorded on a SECAM VCR or a SECAM prerecorded tape is played back on this VCP the picture will be black and white Because this VCP cannot be used in France the use of a system is suggested When using the AUTO position on a projector the playback picture may be black and white or the sound may not be reproduced In that case set projector colour system to m

Do not attempt to service this projector yoursell as Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel Unplug this projector from wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions a When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed b If liquid has been spilled into the projector e f the projector has been exposed to rain or water d If the projector does not operate normally by following the operating instructions Adjust only those controls that are covered by tha operating Instructions as improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and wil often require extensive work by qualified technician to restore the projector to normal operation e If the projector has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged LWhen the projector exhibits a distinct change in performance this indicates a need for servico When replacement parts are required be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer that have the same characteristics as the original part Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire electric shock or injury to persons Upon completion of any service or repairs to this projector ask the service technician to perform routine safely checks lo determine that the projector is in sate operating condition Follow all warnings and instru

IFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR The TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR lights red when the internal temperature of the projector exceeds the normal temperature Possible causes for the temperature warning may be 1 Ventilation slots at the front or rear of the projector are blocked In such an event reposition the projector so that ventilation slots are not obstructed 2 Air fiter is clogged with dust particles Remove dust from the air filter by following instructions in the Air Filler Care and Cleaning section above If temperature waming indicator remains on after performing the checks listed above cooling far internal circuits may be malfunctioning Request service from an authorized dealer or service station HELPFUL HINTS Problems and Solutions Check the following chart before requesting service PROJECTOR Problem Try these Solutions No power Plug the projector into an AC outlet Press the MAINS switch to ON Press the POWER LAMP ON OFF button to ON No sound from builtin speaker Press the VOLUME and W to A Check audio cable connection from audio input source Check SP OUT switch to INT position Picture is reversed Press the PICTURE SCAN switch Picture blurred or color faded Check the projection distance 0 7m 3 3m Adjust the FOCUS control NOTE Moving the projector from a cool temperature location to a
10. atch position according to the tape format to play back indicated in the table CASSETTE LOADING AND UNLOADING LOADING When a video cassette is inserted it will be loaded automatically UNLOADING POWER OFF EJECT The video cassette will be ejected when the 1 4 STOP EJECT button is pressed even when the VCP is stand by condition CAUTION Do not put your hand or other objects in the cassette loading slot because of the risk of injury or an accident Be sure to keep small children away from the set 12 AUTOMATIC HEAD CLEANING SYSTEM This VCP is equipped with an automatic head cleaning system which automatically cleans the heads every time a cassette is loaded or unloaded However if during playback noise appears in the picture it is recommended to use commercially available head cleaning cassettes to completely clean the video heads Note Be careful not to use head cleaning cassettes too often as they may damage the video heads PLAYBACK I Insert the video cassette Press the gt PLAY button the video cassette is playback PLAY button is provided on the Built in VCP or on the remote control unit lI Press the 4 REW button to rewind the tape lt 4 REW button is provided on the Bulitin VCP or on the remote control uni Press the FF button to advance fast forward the tape b gt FF button is provided on the Built in VCP or on the remote contro unit Press the STOP butto

20. n to stop the playback I STOP button is provided on the Built in VCP or on the remote control unit AUTO REWIND When a video cassette is played to the end of the tape the tape will be automatically rewind TRACKING ADJUSTMENT AUTO TRACKING ADJUSTMENT It the playback picture is disturbed by noise interference press the ATR button on the remote control unit Adjustment to the optimum point wil occur automatically MANUAL TRACKING ADJUSTMENT If the playback picture still shows interference manually adjust it with the TRACKING controls on the built in VCP to minimize the noise Note H you wish to return the tracking adjustment to ts original center position after having changed it press both the TRACKING controls simultaneously Noise interference SPECIAL PLAYBACK FORWARD SEARCH U Press the FF button during playback or fast forward operation The picture can be viewed while the tape is advanced at a fast speed Normal playback will resume as the gt PLAY button is pressed REVERSE SEARCH Press the 44 REW button during playback or rewind operation The picture can be viewed while the tape is rewound at a fast speed l Normal playback will resume when the PLAY button is pressed Note To search for a particular scene you can switch from fast forward to forward search and vice versa by simply pressing the P FF button from rewind to reverse search by simply pressing the
