12. i Errors occur frequently while sending The telephone lines may be in poor condition or you may have a bad connection e Lower the transmission speed p 10 4 Troubleshooting Ka 9 3 9 4 E Receiving Problems i Can not receive a fax automatically The machine may not be set to receive automatically e For the machine to receive faxes automatically the receive mode must be set to FaxTel FaxOn1ly or AnsMode Chapter 5 If you have set AnsMode confirm that an answering machine is connected to the machine and that it is turned on with an outgoing message properly recorded The machine s memory is full e Print out or delete any documents stored in memory pp 4 20 4 21 to free up space in the machine s memory Then ask the other party to resend the fax An error may have occurred during reception e Print an ACTIVITY REPORT and check for an error p 8 2 The telephone line may not be connected properly e Make sure all line connections are secure gt Set up Guide I The machine does not switch automatically between telephone and fax reception The machine may not be set to switch automatically between telephone and fax reception e For the machine to switch automatically the receive mode must be set to FaxTel or AnsMode Chapter 5 If you have set AnsMode confirm that an answering machine is connected to the machine and that it is turned on with an outgoing message properly recorded The
