TechnicalBulletin Bulletin No PRO 01 39 Effective Date 11 21 94 Cancels N A Page 1 of 1 Subject SAFTEY VALVE FOR INSTALLATION ON TU FLO 550 amp 750 COMPRESSORS A safety valve is now available for installation into the cylinder head of the Tu Flo 550 and Tu Flo 750 Compressors to prevent excessive cylinder head pressure in the event the discharge line is blocked The excessive pressure typically results in compressor damage and may cause subsequent engine damage Safety valve piece number 109914 has a 1 2 NPT supply port for installation in the unused compressor discharge port During normal operation the compressor pressure exerts a force on the safety valve piston which is held against its seat by the safety valve spring When the operating pressure acting upon the safety valve piston exceeds the force of the safety valve spring the safety valve piston opens and vents the pressure to atmosphere The safety valve is preset to relieve pressures above 250 psi Because this safety valve is designed specifically for this application a standard safety valve must not be used in lieu of piece number 109914 7 8 HEX Install in Unused Compressor Discharge Port eg E ST 4 Safety Valve 1 2 Typical Compressor Cylinder Head
