4. 3 2 3 1 RAID driver installation After creating the RAID sets for your server system you are now ready to install an operating system to the independent hard disk drive or bootable array This part provides instructions on how to install or update the RAID card drivers Z The RAID card driver might be included in the Linux OS installation CD and lo could be loaded automatically during OS installation However we recommend using the RAID driver packaged in the RAID card support CD for better reliability 3 1 1 Creating a RAID driver disk aN You may have to use another system to create the RAID driver disk from the RAID card support CD or from the Internet A floppy disk with the RAID driver is required when installing Windows Server 2003 or Linux operating system on a hard disk drive that is included in a RAID set You can create a RAID driver disk in DOS using the Makedisk application in the support CD To create a RAID driver disk in DOS environment 1 Place the RAID card support CD in the optical drive 2 Restart the computer then enter the BIOS Setup 3 Select the optical drive as the first boot priority to boot from the support CD Save your changes then exit the BIOS Setup 4 Restart the computer 5 Press any key when prompted to boot from CD Loading FreeDOS FAT KERNEL GO Press any key to boot from CDROM 6 The Makedisk menu appears Select PIKE 1064E SAS Driver and press lt Enter gt to enter the
