Installation Instructions Amaarilis 8630 SERIES THREE HANDLE BATH SHOWER SETS with EverClean Finish Congratulations on purchasing your American Standard faucet with EverClean finish found only on American Standard faucets EverClean Finish e One wipe effortlessly removes spots e Eliminates the need for cleaners and scrubbing e Permanent surface protectant remains beautiful for the life of the faucet N e EverClean available on Polished Chrome Satin Nickel Stainless Steel A A E T A Ae ABID Polished Brass or any combination of these finishes To ensure that your installation proceeds smoothly please read these instructions carefully before you begin M968716 Rev 1 1 ROUGHING IN DIMENSIONS SHOWER NOTE NO CONCEALED PIPING FURNISHED ARM 1 1 4 DIA HOLE FINISHED 1 2 NPT WALL SHOWER ARM t OPTIONAL TO FINISHED FLOOR USUALLY BETWEEN 65 AND 78 1 3 4 TO 3 3 8 74 FOR HEAD CLEARANCE gt OPTIONAL 1 2 N PT TO 2 1 138 16 DIA HOLES SHOWER FOR VALVES ON 8 CENTERS 1 1 13 16 DIA HOLE FOR CENTER TRANSFER j DS TRANSFER VALVE VALVE gi SWIVEL CROSS i O BRAE i A E Y Ee HANDLE 1 3 4 a A Q ee ADAPTER TYP Y 48 BOVER COUPLING NUT De OPTIONAL to wt UNION INLET FINISHED 1 2 14 N PT i i SLEEVE RUBBER RING SPOUT A STREAM STRAIGHTENER ee CAUTION Turn off hot and cold water supplies before2. beginning ROUGHING IN FITTING Prepare water supplies per Roughing in Dimensions Slip COUPLING NUT over supply pipe and screw UNION SWIVEL to pipe For Sweat Connection Slip COUPLING NUT over 5 8 0 D supply tube and solder tube into UNION SWIVEL or female inlet of valve Install VALVE at indicated height and depth Notice that finished wall has to be between the MAX WALL and MIN which is 1 5 8 below Connect HOT water supply to left VALVE inlet and COLD water supply to right VALVE inlet Tighten both COUPLING NUTS firmly Secure VALVE BODY to cross brace of wall structure 2 ROUGHING IN SHOWER AND SPOUT Prepare SHOWER RISER ELBOW and roughing in NIPPLE and connect to top outlet of VALVE BODY Outlet is 1 2 female NPT Prepare TUB FILLER PIPE ELBOW and 1 2 NPT SPOUT NIPPLE Final length of SPOUT NIPPLE to be 1 1 2 from finished wall Add cross braces to wall structure and secure piping Cap roughing in nipples open supply lines and check for leaks SHOWER PLBOW ARM ROUGH IN NIPPLE PLASTER cd GUARD SWIVEL g SUPPLY PIPE COUPLING i NUT Remove PLASTER GUARDS by turning counter clockwise and pulling Do not discard p PLASTER GUARD has a STEM SOCKET to operate valves Turn PLASTER GUARD over and push STEM SOCKET onto VALVE STEM Open hot and cold valves and check for leaks ROUGH IN Close both valves turn off water supplies and replace PLASTER GUARDS NIPPLE Fin
3. ish wall construction 3 FINISHING INSTALLATION E Remove caps from roughing in nipples E Remove PLASTER GUARD by turning counter clockwise and pulling E f VALVE BODY is roughed in deep more than 1 1 2 screw SLEEVE in ESCUTCHEON facing front of ESCUTCHEON E f VALVE BODY is roughed in SHALLOW less than 1 1 2 screw SLEEVE in ESCUTCHEON facing back of ESCUTCHEON E Assemble RUBBER RING to ESCUTCHEON E Screw ESCUTCHEON and SLEEVE onto VALVE COVER against wall E Install SHOWER ARM SHOWER ARM FLANGE and TUB SPOUT 4 TEST INSTALLED FAUCET E Turn HANDLES into off position Turn on water supplies and check all connections for leaks E To change direction of handle rotation proceed as follows a Turn valve to OFF position Pull out INDEX CAP and remove HANDLE SCREW a Pull off HANDLE BASE and remove ADAPTER m Remove SPRING CLIP a Lift STOP WASHER turn 90 and replace SPRING a Replace SPRING CLIP CLIP Reinstall HANDLE See step 4 DEEP ROUGH IN SHALLOW ROUGH IN MORE THAN 1 1 2 B SLEEVE VALVE COVER SLEEVE il 1 RUBBER RING VALVE BODY L ESCUTCHEON LESS THAN 1 172 j Operate both HANDLES to flush water lines thoroughly Check SHOWER HEAD and connections for leaks Turn handles into OFF position If spout drips operate handles
