Front Mounted Skid Shoes SL60 03 08 Operation Section 4 3 2008 Alamo Group Inc OPERATION OPERATION 2 OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS Safe operation of the unit is the responsibility of a qualified operator A qualified operator has read and under stands the implement and tractor Operator s Manuals and is experienced in implement and tractor operation and all associated safety practices In addition to the safety messages contained in this manual safety signs are affixed to the implement and tractor If any part of the operation and safe use of this equipment is not com pletely understood consult an authorized dealer for a complete explanation If the operator cannot read the manuals for themselves or does not completely understand the operation of the equipment it is the responsibility of the supervisor to read and explain the manuals safety practices and operating instructions to the operator Safe operation of equipment requires that the operator wear approved Personal Protective Equipment PPE for the job conditions when attaching operating servicing and repairing the equipment PPE is designed to provide operator protection and includes the following safety wear PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT PPE e Protective Eye Glasses Goggles or Face Shield e Hard Hat e Steel Toe Safety Footwear e Gloves e Hearing Protection e Close Fitting Clothing e Respirator or Filter Mask depends
3. 6 1 Connecting the Hitches The mower can only be attached to skid steers equipped with a universal quick mount hitch The mower attaches to the skid steer by engaging the skid steer mounting plate under the mower hitch saddle weldment and locking hitch pins to secure the skid steer and mower hitches together OPS SS 0024 1 With the engine completely shut down and the parking brake set rotate the skid steer latch handles upward to the unlatched position The latch handles must be completely raised to fully retract the hitch lock pins 2 Start the skid steer and tilt the hitch mounting plate forward while guiding the mounting plate crest under the attachment saddle of the mower Raise and roll back the mounting plate until the mower hitch plate is securely seated flat against the skid steer mounting plate 3 With the mower fully supported by the skid steer boom lower the mower to ground level Slightly tilt the front of the mower head upward about 2 from ground level Turn off the engine set the parking brake and exit the skid steer Push both latch handles downward to engage the hitch pins into the mower hitch retaining tabs Never extend any part of your body from the operator s area to operate latches or to connect hydraulic lines or the height limiting chain The mower hitch is now securely attached to the mounting plate of the skid steer 4 With the skid steer still completely shut down secure the height

AWARNING blades and or carrier are being serviced Avoid personal injury Always wear safety glasses and face protection when grinding blades AWARNING Follow Original Pattern SEO e Eo Maintain Corner gt Mnt R 0008 IMAGE 4 Blade Maintenance SL60 03 07 Maintenance Section 5 4 2007 Alamo Group Inc MAINTENANCE BLADE REMOVAL To remove blades for sharpening or replacement 14 4 remove the cover plate on deck of mower near Hydraulic Motor Remove lock nut from blade bolt NOTE Inspect lock nut after removal and replace if gt threads are damaged Always replace nut when O i replacing blade bolt When installing blades be sure and check blade bolt pivot diameter for wear Replace bolt if worn more than 1 4 inch at any point See Image Tighten lock nut to 250 ft Ibs Dene Maximum Bolt Wear Avoid personal injury Blade and or blade carrier removal should be done only with the AWARNING oa a power unit engine shut off key removed in park parking brake on the auxiliary hydraulics are disengaged and the mower securely blocked up BLADE CARRIER REMOVAL Remove cotter pin and loosen slotted nut on spindle shaft Loosen but do not remove the nut until the blade carrier is loosened Use a suitable 2 jaw gear puller to pull carrier off tapered spindle shaft If gear puller is not available use long bar inserted through blade bolt access hole with end against rotor bar Strike oppos

PRE OPERATION Inspection y y Mower ID Make M Date Shift Before conducting the inspection make sure the tractor engine is off all AWARNING rotation has stopped and the tractor is in park with the parking brake engaged Make sure the mower is resting on the ground or securely blocked up and all hydraulic pressure has been relieved Condition at Specific Comments if Start of Shift not O K Item The Operator s Manual is in the canister on the mower All safety decals are in place and legible The tongue hitch connection bolts amp pins are tight There are no cracks in tongue or hitch The tow chain is secured to the tractor amp mower The hydraulic cylinders pins are tight There are no leaking or damaged hoses The mower deck is clear of cut grass and debris Chain guards deflectors are in place amp in good condition Driveline gearbox shields are in good condition Driveline clutches are in good condition not frozen Driveline telescoping members amp U joints are lubricated Driveline yokes are securely attached to PTO amp mower Gearbox mounting bolts are tight Gearbox oil is at the proper level Blade carrier retaining nut is tight Blades are not chipped cracked or bent Blade bolts are tight Wheel lug nuts are tight Transport locks are in good condition Operator s Signature DO NOT OPERATE an UNSAFE TRACTOR or MOWER SL60 03 08 Opera

99. limiting safety chain to the front of the skid steer chassis O O D O Z SL60 03 08 Operation Section 4 11 2008 Alamo Group Inc OPERATION OPERATION 6 2 Connecting Mower and Skid Steer Hydraulics Lines 1 Before connecting the mower hydraulic lines to the skid steer auxiliary hydraulic ports be sure that the hydraulic output capacity of the skid steer matches the rated capacity of the mower and that the hydraulic lines and quick couplers are of the same size and type 2 With the skid steer completely shut down and secured in position and the mower resting at ground level relieve auxiliary hydraulic pressure by moving the control levers back and forth several times 3 When connecting the skid steer hydraulic lines to the mower keep hoses quick couplers and swivels free of contamination Clean dirt and other debris from the connections with a clean rag to prevent contamination of the hydraulic oil 4 The mower will only operate with oil fed through the mower in one direction If the mower does not operate when the auxiliary hydraulics are engaged oil is probably being fed through the motor in the reverse direction To correct this problem reverse the hydraulic line connection between the mower and skid steer and engage the hydraulics again or try engaging the auxiliary hydraulic lever in the opposite direction 5 Once hydraulic lines are properly connected for operation secure cord
