One of our favorite features of the CommandManager is the ability to create a custom tab that can be used to create a group of some of your favorite tools This can prove to be especially useful if you have a set of common tasks and you want to minimize the number of mouse clicks when selecting tabs The first thing you will need to do is create a new empty tab on the CommandManager 1 Enter the customize mode for the CommandManager as discussed in the previous section and click the New Tab button 24 Chapter 1 Becoming Familiar with SolidWorks 2 On the very top of the menu select Empty Tab The New Tab name will be highlighted mene ANITE RATA 3 Enter the name of the new tab 4 Add the desired buttons as described in the next section 5 Once your new tab is finished click OK in the Customize window ronment in which they were created If you want to have the new tab available S N OTE By default newly created tabs exist only in the document envi in all environments then use the Copy Tab To command discussed earlier Add and Remove Tools in Tabs Adding tools to the CommandManager tabs is one of the great advantages of using the CommandManager SolidWorks for the most part did a good job of anticipating which tools will be used most often in various environments but you may find that there some changes you would like to make In this example you will add the Split tool to the Features tab
