1. HARDWARE INSTALLATION Turn off your computer and all external devices connected to it Disconnect your computer from its power source Open the computer case Refer to your computer s user manual for more details on how to do this Locate an available PCI Express slot preferably a PCI Express 2 0 slot and remove the slot bracket Save the bracket screw for later use Align the controller card horizontally with respect to the PCI Express slot and insert it into the slot firmly and evenly Once the controller card is properly positioned into the slot fasten it to the computer case with the bracket screw which has been previously saved To power USB devices connect the 4 Pin power cable to the controller card from the power supply unit PSU of the computer Secure the computer case and plug in your previously removed devices Then power your computer back on DRIVER INSTALLATION Installing Windows driver 1 Insert the driver CD disc into the optical drive Assume the optical drive s letter is D 2 Navigate to the Renesas driver folder A path example would be D Renesas uPD72020x Double click the setup exe file R screen prompts until the installation is completed Verifying Driver Installation To verify if the driver has been installed correctly make sure the following items appear in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers category in the Windows Device Manager The Installation W2.
