6. gnesium mineral salts and other de posits which in hard water areas can contribute to limescale build up in the tank To avoid these problems it is necessary to swill out with tapwater and empty the genera tor tank after every 3 or 4 uses In hard wa ter areas we recommend the use of KAL STOP a special natural base decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down limescale making it easy to remove just by swilling out the tank with a little tapwater This is a pre ventive against lime scale build up and pro tects the metal walls of the steam generator tank KALSTOP is available from Polti dea lers or by mail order from your Polti Service Centre We recommend you use original Polti pro ducts only as products of other brands may not be suitable for use in Polti pro ducts and could cause damage Never use distilled water or scented wa 19 ter Do not try to unscrew the safety cap or empty the appliance whilst water in the boiler is still hot Do not refill the boiler while it is still hot Allow it to cool for a good few minutes before refil ling e Do not open the safety cap while the apl liance is ON When REFILLING the generator boiler use HOT not cold water Pour in gradually and gently at first and keep your face and other exposed skin well away Otherwise the still hot boiler walls may spit drops of very hot water or steam spray e Make sure the patented safety cap is fully and correctly screwed on othe

9. ng ope ration This means that the heating element is working correctly to keep a constant pres sure in the boiler This is a correct functio ning just keep on ironing as usual If no steam comes out of the iron check the following the Iron heating indicator light 3a is OFF there is water in the boiler 21 PATENTED SAFETY CAP WATER OUT Your Vaporella is equipped with a patented sa fety cap which prevents opening of the boiler as long as there is any pressure remaining in side This is an important and indispensable safety device and it is necessary to follow cer tain procedures when re filling the boiler When no more water comes out of the iron proceed as follows 1d Switch off the boiler 2 2d Press the steam request button on the iron 3 so as to fully exhaust the steam supply from the boiler Switch off the iron 4 Disconnect the power cable from the mains Unscrew anti clockwise the patented safety cap 5 Wait for a few minutes allowing the boiler to cool down When cool carefully refill the boiler as de scribed in paragraph 1a of the section PREPARATION FOR USE If you refill the boiler when not completely cooled we re commend to pour only very small quantities of water so as to avoid its immediate eva poration 3d 4d 5d 6d 7d CARE OF YOUR VAPORELLA Before attempting any maintenance ope ration make sure to always disconnect the applian
