TROUBLESHOOTING What To Do Shut down your equipment or bypass the UPS turn off the UPS Contact your service representative To restart the UPS disconnect the signal to Pin 21 on the RS 232 port If you have a control panel put the UPS in Auto mode If not turn the UPS ON OFF switch off and then on again Verify the rooms environmental controls HVAC are functioning correctly and maintaining a reasonable room temperature Ensure the input air vents at the front of the unit and the fan exhaust atthe back of the unit are not blocked Ensure the unit is not overloaded If the alarm condition continues bypass the UPS and turn the UPS switch off Contact your service representative The UPS may shut down Contact your service representative Verify and correct the reason for excessive input voltage being applied to the UPS Verify setup parameter 62 is set correctly The UPS shuts down Contact your service representative If the UPS has already shut down call for service to have the cooling fan replaced If the UPS has not shut down bypass the UPS and turn the UPS switch off before calling your your service representative What It Means Possible microprocessor problem The Remote Shutdown feature has been activated at the RS 232 port see Remote Shutdown on page 95 The Power Factor Module s temperature is too high If the temperature reaches a preset point the UPS shuts down

COMMUNICATION Using the RelayMask Parameters to Control the Alarm Contacts The RelayMask parameters 104 and 105 let you choose which alarms operate the alarm signal contacts at the UPS communication port As shipped the alarm signal contacts change status whenever the UPS alarms By programming the RelayMask parameters you can set up the alarm contacts so they only change status during certain alarms RelayMask1 parameter 104 is for alarms A P and RelayMask2 parameter 105 is for alarms Q T No matter how you program these parameters when the On Off switch is off the alarm contacts act as if an alarm is present To program parameters 104 and 105 1 Enter the Service password 2639 If you are using a FERRUPS UPS control panel use the PROGRAM key to enter the password If you are using a terminal or computer use the password or pw command 2 Display parameter 104 RelayMask1 If you have a control panel press DISPLAYT 1 O I A ENTER If not enter display 104 on your computer or terminal 3 Parameter 104 determines whether alarms A P activate the contacts At the factory it is set to 65535 this setting means all of the alarms A P activate the alarm relay contacts If you do not want any of the alarms to activate the contacts write 0 for the total in Table 13 If you want some of the alarms to activate the contacts find the Alarm Value for each of those alarms and write it in the third colum
