Write with Icons writes the typed message one word at a time For example if you enter Do you want it will write each single word with its icon s In contrast Unity stores the pronoun phrase Do you want under only two icons WANT YOU To get Write with Icons to give you the phrase Do you want as a single unit represented by the icon sequence WANT YOU select F6 at the beginning of the phrase and F7 atthe end To get Write with Icons to show the plural of a word type the singular form of the word then F to indicate you want the plural Type a space punctuation or return to display the icons When a word in Unity Enhanced that is linked to a Sentence Builder is typed the Activity Row Choices window appears You can then select the desired Sentence Builder word from the list or the No Activity Rey if you do not want one of the Sentence Builder words Go to File gt Save and Open to save this information for editing or printing When the instructions are visible your computer cursor is here Type your first Write with Icons word here The cursor is below the instructions You will type your first Write with Icons word where you See the cursor gt Do not scroll up into the instructions or try to delete them as this will confuse the PASS program and you will not get the results you want USING THE PASS PASS Manual 60 Icon on Key Background If this is checked you see the icons as they appea

If you want to send an MTI file that was stored in a different folder go to where the folder is stored select the file you want then select Open Send the E mail When you have selected Open a new message from your e mail program will appear on your screen The MTI file will be attached to the e mail All you have to do is type in an address and any message you want to add and then send the e mail You can e mail a vocabulary document 1 e a Vocabulary Display that you have saved as a document or a screen capture in exactly the same way as you e mail an MTI file Receiving an MTI File as an E mail Attachment Open PASS if it is not already open Open the Tools menu in the menu bar at the top of the screen Select Memory Transfer MTI Find the MTI file you received and click on it Click OK in the yellow box when the transfer is complete USING THE PASS PASS Manual 23 You can load any compatible MTI file into your emulator as long as the file is on your computer or a removable drive For example if you want to load a User Area from a PRC device into a User Area in your matching emulator you must first perform a regular Memory Transfer from your device Once the Area is saved as an MTI file on your computer or on a removable drive you can use the Memory Transfer MTI option in the PASS Tools menu and transfer the Area into your emulator If you want to load a User Area from your PASS into a User Area in a compatible

Assignments Core Vocabulary Sequences i Dynamic Activities p Specific Activity Specific Page Look up Vocabulary Location write with Icons Fil Vocabulary Sort The Vocabulary Display options allow you to do vocabulary sorts for Core Activities Pages you can see where icons and sequences are stored you can add your own comments to rationales you can type text and see the icons that represent that text When you are using options in the Vocabulary Display menu you will see the vocabulary that is in the current User Area of the PASS You can switch User Areas in the PASS to see different vocabularies To Check your Vocabulary Open the PASS If it did not open in Core select the GO TO CORE key You see your current User Area overlay For the following examples we are going to use the Unity 60 Sequenced overlay Make sure this is the overlay you are using Select the Special Keys menu Select Go to Toolbox Select USER AREA MENU If the Text Display Area does not show Unity 60 Sequenced select Switch User Area Select Unity 60 Sequenced Select GO TO CORE Now open the Vocabulary menu at the top of the Text Display Area Click on the Vocabulary Display Options All of the options allow you to view vocabulary in different ways Click on Core Key Assignments USING THE PASS PASS Manual 36 The Core Key Assignments Option W Vantage Vanguard PASS 5 00 1 Area 3 Unity 60 Sequenced 5 00 Oct 28 2
