Canon ImageCLASS mess Set Up Instructions READ THIS FIRST Thank you for purchasing Canon imageCLASS MF5750 To get your machine ready for use please follow the instructions in this document before referring to any other documentation l1 Unpack the machine and its components Check that you have the following gt e Cartridge e Cassette extension e Extension cover e Machine e Power cord e Basic Guide e USB cable e Facsimile Guide e Telephone line cord e Warranty e Destination labels e Limited Warranty Note for Cartridge X25 e Set Up Instructions e Registration Card e MF5700 Series User Software CD ROM NOTE e The cartridge included with the machine is Cartridge X25 that yields approximately 2 500 pages of printouts Letter at 4 dot coverage Before setting up the machine 1 Place the machine on a flat stable surface 2 Remove all shipping tape from the exterior of the machine Referring to the following figure remove the tape and spacers on both sides of the cassette housed in the machine Install the cartridge 1 Remove the cartridge from the bag Keep the bag in a safe place for future use 3 Hold the cartridge on a flat stable surface with one hand and break the tab and pull out the seal completely with the other hand 5 Hold the cartridge so that the instructions A and the arrow B are facing up and insert it in the machine horizontally as far as i2. _ install MF Drivers STEP Install MF Toolbox MF Toolbox Setup Wizard Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for MF Toolbox The InstallShield R Wizard will install MF Toolbox on your computer To continue click Next MF Toolbox Setup Warning Information Before you continue with Setup please close all other applications and disable any virus checking programs you may use MF Toolbox Setup cannot update system or shared files on your computer when they are in use Exit Setup MF Toolbox Setup Wizard Installation of MF Toolbox is complete Click Exit to quit the wizard For installation help and operational instructions call us at Connect the machine to your computer 1 Make sure the machine s power is turned on Connect the cable to the USB port on the back of the machine Then connect the other end of the cable to the USB port on your computer 2 After the installation is complete click Exit S MF Setup to close the MF Setup screen Remove the Install Drivers User Software CD from the CD ROM drive and store it in a safe place 1 STEP Install MF Toolbox install MF Toolbox STEP Make sure the printer is on and connect the printer 3 3 and your computer with the USB cable M amp NOTE e f you would like to install the optional Presto PageManager file management software and or OmniPage OCR software click Install Applications and foll

Important Safety Instructions in the Basic Guide NOTE e Make sure the correct paper size is specified in the machine For details see Chapter 2 Paper Handling in the Basic Guide Set the receive mode Press Menu Press lt or P gt 9 to select lt FAX SETTINGS gt press Set Press lt lt or B 4 1 to select imageCLASS lt RECEIVE MODE gt press Set in Ue Memon 7 ae ET Press lt or P gt to select the 5 S receive mode press Set lt FaxOnly gt to automatically receive faxes all calls will be answered as fax transmission Voice calls will then be disconnected lt FaxTel gt to automatically switch between fax and voice calls Faxes will be received automatically and the machine will ring for voice calls lt AnsMode gt to receive faxes automatically and route voice calls to an answering machine connected to the machine lt DRPD gt to distinguish between fax and voice calls by using Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection lt Manual gt for the connected telephone to ring for fax and voice calls Fax calls must be answered manually Press Stop Reset to return to the standby display amp NOTE e For details on setting fax receive mode see Chapter 5 Receiving Faxes in the Facsimile Guide e Before using the machine make sure you have set the correct telephone line type for your telephone line For details on setting fax recei

7. t will go 1 Hold the document feeder A with one hand and open the document feeder tray B with the other 2 Gently rock the cartridge several times to evenly distribute the toner inside 6 Close the front cover of the machine Assemble the cassette and load paper 2 Pull out the paper cassette completely NOTE e Pull the cassette straight forward Pulling it at an angle may damage the paper sensing lever inside the machine 3 Attach the extension to the cassette The slots 4 Pinch and slide the rear paper end guide to are keyed and must be inserted at a 90 match the size of paper angle Once inserted fold the extension as E shown NOTE e Confirm that the paper guide is fitted in the paper size slit correctly To load Legal size paper Pull the blue tab and extend the cassette as far as it will go Keep the rear paper end guide to LTR size mark If you are not using Legal size paper skip to the next step without extending the cassette 5 Load the paper into the cassette Make sure 6 Pinch and slide the side paper end guides to the paper stack sits below the hooks A match the size of paper 7 Even out the edges of the paper stack 8 Insert the paper cassette back into the Make sure the height of the stack does not machine as far as it will go exceed the limit marks AVA A and that E NOTE the side edges of the stack are below the h
