L OPTICAL AND COAXIAL TERMINALS If your DVD LD player TV satellite tuner etc are equipped with coaxial or optical digital audio signal output terminals they can be connected to this unit s COAXIAL and or OPTICAL digital signal input terminals To make a connection between optical digital audio signal terminals remove the cover from each terminal and then connect them by using a commercially available optical fiber cable that conforms to ElAJ standards Other cables might not function correctly Even if you connect an audio video unit to the OPTICAL or COAXIAL terminal of this unit you must keep the unit connected with the same named analog audio signal terminals of this unit because digital signal cannot be recorded by a tape deck or VCR connected to this unit You can switch the selection of input signals between digital and analog easily See page 29 for details COAXIAL DIGITAL OUT DVD LD player L OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT L ANALOG OUT Notes e When connecting an audio video unit to both of the digital and analog terminals of this unit make sure to connect to both terminals of the same name e Be sure to attach the covers when the OPTICAL terminals are not being used in order to protect the terminals from dust e All digital audio signal input terminals are applicable to the sampling frequency of 32 kHz 44 1 kHz and 48 kHz TV Satellite tuner Ld Ld COAXIAL ANALOG DIGITA
