Indicates special operating features of the DVD Recorder VCR Indicates helpful tips and hints Overview Recordable Discs DVD DVD RW DVD ReWritable These discs can be recorded on repeatedly Recordings can be erased then you can record again on the same disc DVD R DVD Recordable These discs DVD can be recorded only once After you finalize R a DVD R you cannot record on it or edit it otes e The DVD Recorder VCR cannot record on CD R or CD RW discs DVD R RW and CD R RW discs recorded using a personal computer or a DVD or CD recorder may not play if the disc is damaged or dirty or if there is dirt or condensation on the DVD Recorder VCR s lens If you record a disc using a personal computer even if it is recorded in a compatible format there are cases in which it may not play because of the settings of the application software used to create the disc Check with the software publisher for more detailed information The company cannot be held responsible to compen sate for material which did not record as intended and any losses or damages e g loss of profit or interruption of business that may arise from the mal function of this recorder not recording editing as intended This includes problems arising in the fol lowing situations When a DVD disc recorded on this DVD Recorder VCR is used in another manufacturer s DVD recorder or used loaded played recorded or edited

Changing Title Thumbnails Ad Thumb Each title displayed in the Title List menu is represented by a thumbnail picture taken from the start of that title or chapter If you prefer you can select a different still pic ture from within the title 1 Play the title Original or Playlist Press THUMBNAIL to make the currently dis played picture the one that appears in the Original or Playlist menu The still picture that you choose appears in both the Original and Playlist menu Cd You can also change the thumbnail picture of the title on the Chapter List Original or Chapter List Playlist menu Select a chapter on the Chapter List Original or Chapter List Playlist menu then press THUMBNAIL The thumb nail picture of the title that includes the chapter is changed Itle an apter iting ontinue Making a New Playlist Use this function to add an Original title or chapter to a Playlist When you do this the whole title is put into the Playlist you can even delete parts you don t want later see Deleting Titles Chapters on page 51 The title appears in the Playlist complete with the chap ter markers that appear in the Original However if you add more chapter markers to the Original later these are not automatically copied over into the Playlist title You can add up to 999 chapters to one disc If you only want to add a chapter of a title see Adding Titles Chapters to a Playlist on this page Press
