1. The belt The long lasting belt may never need to be replaced However if the belt should break it can be replaced by contacting your local Authorized Hoover Dealer Depot or Hoover Factory Service Center Clean brush roll Replace lens reposition screws and tighten securely The brush roll How to clean Disconnect cleaner from elec trical coutlet To maintain cleaning effective ness periodically remove lint strings etc from the brush roll either from the bottom of the nozzle A or by removing the lens B on top of the nozzle When to replace Replace the brush roll when the brushes do not touch the edge of a card as it is moved across the opening on the bottom of the nozzle A new brush roll can be installed by your local Authorized Hoover Dealer Depot or at a Hoover Factory Service Center To remove lens turn cleaner over and remove 2 Phillips screws at each end of the nozzle Turn cleaner over and lift off lens Battery disposal Cordless model only Your cleaner contains nickel cadmi um batteries When these batteries no longer recharge they must be removed from the cleaner and disposed of properly in accordance with state laws If you want to have a new battery pack installed contact your local Hoover Factory Service Center The following instructions are for disassembly purposes ONLY How to remove battery pack NOTE Do not remove the batteries to recharge t

4. screwdriver If bracket will be mounted closer to an outlet wrap excess cord around top and bottom extensions on front of bracket Attach handle Using a screwdriver loosen and remove screw A and hex head nut B from the top cleaner With cord hook on handle grip toward back of cleaner push handle into cleaner and align holes Screw A into C and tighten with screwdriver Hold bracket against wall in desired location and mark cen ter of each hole Drill a 1 8 diame ter starter hole in center of each mark 7 If wall bracket is being mounted onto dry wall plaster or thin pan eling backed by dry wall or plas ter enlarge starter holes to 13 64 diameter Push plastic anchors fully into holes Place bracket on wall over anchors Begin driving screws into anchors Tighten screws securely Mounting wall bracket cordless model only The wall bracket is designed for both storing and recharg ing the cleaner Choose a convenient place where the bracket can be mounted in a vertical position and within 6 feet of an electrical outlet Do not use an outlet which is controlled with a wall switch for charging your cleaner Do not attempt to mount wall bracket onto thin paneling without a dry wall or plaster backing If wall bracket is being mounted onto a wall stud solid wood or thick paneling drill only the starter holes Place bracket onto the wall and drive screws into holes witho

11. t in Maintenance section NOTE e It is normal for the charger to feel warm when the battery is charging Never charge batteries in tempera tures above100 F or below 32 F e Charging light A illuminates when cleaner is charging e The cleaner can be on a constant charge so it is always ready for use Make sure it is in OFF Charge position before charging However if the cleaner will not be used for several weeks at a time unplugging it is recommended How to empty Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet Push latch A and pull dirt cup away from cleaner While holding dirt cup grasp filter frame B and lift out filter ON OFF switch and carpet bare floor selector F1 The switch has 3 positions 1 Slide switch toward the han dle to turn OFF A Push switch forward to turn ON for cleaning 2 Bare floors B brush roll is stopped 3 Carpet C brush roll rotates Empty dirt cup To remove debris from filter tap it on a hard surface or brush it with a soft brush Replace filter into dirt cup Note If filter is heavily soiled it can be washed in warm soapy water using a soft brush if necessary Rinse filter thor oughly Dry filter by blotting with a towel Dry it completely before storing filter in cleaner Attach dirt cup to cleaner by first hooking tab A at back of cleaner into cup Then pivot B and C sections together making sure latch is secure
