7. ble Conserve water by using power blowers instead of hoses for many lawn and garden ap plications including areas such as gutters screens patios grills porches and gardens Use the full blower nozzle extension so the air stream can work close to the ground After using blowers and other equipment CLEAN UP Dispose of debris in trash re ceptacles BEFORE STARTING ENGINE WARNING Be sure to read the fuel information in the safety rules before you begin If you do not understand the safety rules do not attempt to fuel your unit Call 1 800 554 6723 FUELING ENGINE This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline Gasoline must be mixed with a good quality 2 cycle air cooled engine oil designed to be mixed at a ratio of 40 1 Poulan Weed Eater brand oil is recommended A 40 1 ratio is ob tained by mixing 3 2 ounces of oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline When mixing fuel follow the instructions printed on the container Always read and follow the safety rules under FUEL SAFETY Fuel stabilizer is an acceptable alternative in minimizing the formation of fuel gum deposits during storage Poulan Weed Eater brand oil is already blended with fuel stabilizer na Eye Protection STOPPING YOUR ENGINE e Move the throttle lever 3 to the STOP position e If engine does not stop move the choke lever 1 to Full Choke Starting Position STARTING YOUR ENGINE You MUST mak

9. e sure the tube is secure be fore using the unit e Fuel engine Move at least 10 feet 3 meters away from the fueling site e Hold the unit in the starting position as shown Make sure the blower end is directed away from people animals glass and solid objects WARNING When starting engine STARTING A COLD ENGINE OR A WARM ENGINE THAT HAS RUN OUT OF FUEL Move choke lever 1 to FULL CHOKE e Slowly press the primer bulb 6 times e Move throttle lever 3 to the position e Sharply pull starter handle until engine at tempts to run NO MORE THAN 5 PULLS Move choke lever 1 to 1 2 CHOKE Pull starter rope sharply until engine runs NOTE If engine has not started after 5 pulls repeat all of the above steps e After a 10 second warm up move the choke lever 1 to CHOKE OFF e Move throttle lever to for low speed e To stop engine move the throttle lever 3 to the STOP position NOTE If engine does not stop move choke lever to FULL CHOKE STARTING A WARM ENGINE THAT HAS NOT RUN OUT OF FUEL e Move the choke lever 1 to the CHOKE OFF position Move throttle lever 3 to the position e Pull starter handle sharply until engine runs NOTE If engine does not run after 5 pulls follow information provided under Starting a cold engine or a warm engine that has run out of fuel DIFFICULT STARTING OR STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE Flooded engines can be started by placing the choke leve
10. es e Check air intake opening and blower tubes frequently always with engine stopped and spark plug disconnected Keep vents and discharge tubes free from debris which can accumulate and restrict proper air flow and cause damage to the unit Never use for spreading chemicals fertiliz ers or other substances which may contain toxic materials e To avoid spreading fire do not use near leaf or brush fires fireplaces barbecue pits ash trays etc e To reduce the risk of hearing loss associated with sound level s hearing protection is re quired e To reduce the risk of injury associated with contacting rotating parts stop the engine be fore installing or removing attachments Do not operate without guard s in place e Use only for jobs explained in this manual MAINTAIN YOUR UNIT PROPERLY e Have all maintenance other than the recom mended procedures described in the Opera tor s Manual performed by an Authorized Service Dealer e Disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance except for carburetor adjust ments e Use only recommended replacement parts use of any other parts may void your warran ty and cause damage to your unit e Empty the fuel tank before storing the unit Use up fuel left in carburetor by starting the engine and letting it run until it stops e Do not use any accessory or attachment other than those recommended by the man ufacturer for use with your unit e Do not store the unit or
