5. et ID number appear on the handset s display Note the ID number since it is required to communicate between the handsets Note The system can accept up to four handsets If you try to register a fifth handset Fail Try again appears This can also happen when you try to re register an existing handset without clearing the base s memory since the base recognizes it as fifth handset If any of the handsets seem to have a registration problem change the base s security code and reregister all of the handsets See Additional Information on Page 27 of the 43 3526 owner s manual The handset is ready to operate Use it as described in the owner s manual supplied with Cat No 43 3526 CARE Keep the handset dry if it gets wet wipe it dry immediately Use and store the handset only in normal temperature environments Handle the handset carefully do not drop it Keep the handset away from dust and dirt and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new Modifying or tampering with the handset s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it If your handset is not performing as it should take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance If the trouble is affecting the telephone lines the phone company can ask you to disconnect your telephone until you have resolved the problem THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KN

8. tery power might be too low to light the display e If you are not going to use your phone for an extended period disconnect the battery pack This increases the battery pack s usable life The supplied battery pack should last for about a year If the battery pack does not hold a charge for more than 2 hours after an overnight charge replace it with a new 3 6 volt 700 mAh battery pack with a connector that fits the socket in the battery compartment You can order a replacement battery pack through your local RadioShack store Install the new battery pack and charge it for about 12 15 hours Warning Dispose of the old battery pack promptly and properly Do not burn or bury it See Battery Safety Instructions on Page 4 of the 43 3526 owner s manual If you have trouble replacing the battery pack take the phone to your local RadioShack store for assistance REGISTERING THE HANDSET After fully charging the battery pack follow these steps to register your handset 1 While the phone is not in use including the intercom remove the existing handset from the base 2 Hold PAGE on the base until the CHARGE VOICE MAIL indicator flashes 3 While the indicator is flashing place the new handset on the base The handset beeps to indicating registration is complete If registration is not done properly Fail Try again appears Repeat Steps 2 and 3 The current ringer volume setting and the hands
