8. during start up or if there is a malfunction The indicator will light yellow when the unit is ready to operate 4 AC IN connector If the power indicator light turns from yellow to red turn off Connect the accessory power cord here the power and refer to Protection circuit on page 14 If the trouble is still not resolved ask your dealer 5 SPEAKERS terminals Connect speakers with impedance of 4Q to 16Q 2 Power switch Press to turn the power on off Flip the switch to the right to turn the power on flip the switch to the left to turn the power off TAD M600 7 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS Installation N WARNING As the TAD M600 is a large and heavy unit make sure to move unpack and install with four or more people When installing choose a level and flat surface that can sufficiently withstand the weight of this unit Failure to do so could cause the unit to fall resulting in an accident It is recommended that the TAD M600 be installed directly on a solid floor surface If installed on a shelf the user is responsible for confirming that the location is fully able to support the heavy weight of the amplifier io promote heat emission do not put objects on top of the TAD M600 or cover with a sheet Such as cloth or curtains while operating Failure to do so could cause the unit to malfunction through abnormal heating Leave 60 cm 2 ft open CAUTION As the TAD M600 emits a large amount of hea

AUTION As the TAD M600 has high power consumption be sure to connect the plug to a power outlet providing sufficient electrical capacity Connecting to a power outlet with low electrical capacity could result in abnormal heating of the plug connection Handle the power cord by the plug part Do not pull out the plug by tugging the cord and never touch the power cord when your hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit or electric shock Do not place the unit a piece of furniture or other object on the power cord or pinch the cord in any other way Never make a knot in the cord or tie it with other cables The power cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be stepped on A damaged power cord can cause a fire or give you an electric shock Check the power cord once in a while If you find it damaged ask your dealer for a replacement TAD M600 13 TO BEGIN PLAYBACK Before turning on the power Make sure that the input terminals and output terminals are securely connected Playback 1 Turn the volume knob of the Pre Amplifier to its lowest setting 2 Turn the Pre Amplifier s power on 3 Turn the TAD M600 s power on The power indicator will light red for eight seconds The light will turn yellow once the TAD M600 is ready to operate Use the Pre Amplitier s volume knob to adjust the volume 4 To turn off the unit after use first turn the volume knob of the Pre Amplifier to its lowest setting the

14. n turn off both the Pre Amplifier and the TAD M600 Protection circuit The TAD M600 is provided with a built in automatic protection circuit to prevent electrical damage to the amplifier and speakers When the protection circuit operates the power indicator will light red and no sound will be produced from the speakers The protection circuit may operate in the following circumstances When power is first turned ON In order to silence potential noise during startup the muting circuit operates for eight seconds the indicator lights red during this time In event of malfunction In the event of a short circuit between speaker terminals excessive load or abnormal heat generation the protection circuit will operate and the indicator will light red The protection circuit is of the auto reset type In the event the protection circuit operates due to a malfunction turn off the power eliminate the source of the malfunction and turn the power on again TECHNICAL AUDIO DEVICES LABORATORIES INC 14 TROUBLESHOOTING Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions If you think that there is something wrong with this component check the points below Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component Investigate the other components and electrical appliances being used If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below ask your dealer Power does not turn he power plug is not
15. nformation TAD M600 11 Connecting to the speaker system Z CAUTION he input terminals of speaker systems have a negative pole and a positive pole Make sure to align these poles correctly when connecting to the speaker terminals of the TAD M600 Make sure to use speakers with an impedance of 4Q to 16 Q Use speaker cables with a large electrical capacity and make sure no warps or shorts are present Using speaker cables with a small electrical capacity or making imperfect connections could affect the sound quality of your speakers or cause abnormal heating and shortage Make sure that all the bare speaker wire is twisted together and inserted fully into the speaker terminal If any of the bare speaker wire touches the back panel it may cause the power to cut off as a safety measure These speaker terminals carry HAZARDOUS LIVE voltage To prevent the risk of electric shock when connecting or disconnecting the speaker cables disconnect the power cord before touching any uninsulated parts How to connect the speaker system Connect the positive terminal of the speaker system to the positive terminal of the TAD M600 Connect the negative terminal of the speaker system to the negative terminal of the TAD M600 Connecting the speaker cable 1 Remove 15 mm 1 49 in of the protective insulation to the speaker cable and twist the core wires together 2 Turn the speaker terminal knob to the
