To Record NICAM Bilingual Programmes Set AUDIO REC to NICAM to record the NICAM bilingual programme I pg 75 NOTES e If the quality of stereo sound being received is poor the broadcast will be received in monaural with better quality e Before playing back a programme recorded in stereo or a bilingual programme refer to Soundtrack Selection on page 28 300 Basic Recording e Turn on the TV and select the AV mode e f the recorder is turned on with HDD deck selected there may be about 30 seconds delay in starting to show pictures on the screen NOTE It is not possible to record a TV programme on both the HDD deck and the VHS deck simultaneously In addition it is not possible to record simultaneously from the same external input RECORDING PLAYBACK ON VHS DECK 1 Load a cassette Insert a cassette with the record safety tab intact Make sure the window side is up the rear label side is facing you and the arrow on the front of the cassette is pointed toward the recorder e Do not apply too much pressure when inserting e The recorder s power comes on automatically e While is blinking on the front display panel the tape will run for a few seconds to search for the tape number e f you want to use VCR Navigation to select the programme after recording with this recorder set NAVIGATION to ON C pg 75 2 Select the VHS deck Press S VHS

AUTO TIMER is set to OFF all other recorder functions are disabled while the Timer mode is engaged To disengage the timer press O TIMER When this function is set to ON you can easily start recording the programme that you are watching on your TV Press and hold and press B on the remote control or press O on the recorder NOTES e When you use the Direct Rec function be sure to use a TV offering T V LINK etc and connect a fully wired 21 pin SCART cable between the recorder and the TV c pg 12 e f DIRECT REC is set to OFF the O button functions as described in Basic Recording 17 pg 22 30 e During the Direct Rec appears on the front display panel e f a programme is recorded with the Direct Rec the station name will not be registered for the Navigation will be displayed for the station name e Retake function F pg 38 does not work during Direct Rec e Even if there is no power supply for more than 60 minutes the recorder keeps the setting e f you use the remote control of your TV to record the programme with the Direct Rec the programme will be recorded on the HDD deck even if you select the VHS deck In this case first few seconds of the programme will not be recorded EN 9 SHOWVIEW System Setup IMPORTANT Normally Auto Set Up 15 pg 14 Preset Download I pg 16 or Auto Channel Set I pg 80 sets the Guide Program numbers automati
