For Windows CE Applications The following steps outline the initial boot and Windows CE load on the 602 Computer 1 TheAT BIOS loads the boot sector from the IDE drive 2 MS DOS loads itself from thelDE drive and executes from RAM It loads device drivers from CA CONFIG SYS then executes the system command shell CY COMMAND COM which then executes initial commands from CA AUTOEXEC BAT 2 6 NORANDP 600 Series Industrial Mobile Computer User s Guide SECTION 2 Operation HIMEM SYS is installed by MS DOS during CONFIG SYS processing is currently required by LOADCEPC EXE and provides real mode access to memory above one MB 3 LOADCEPC EXE is executed during the AUTOEXEC BAT processing On the 602 Computer Windows CE itself consists of the NK BIN binary file that contains the memory image of the Windows CE configuration LOADCEPC EXE copies this file image into RAM and then jumps to its starting address 4 After NK BIN Windows CE memory image is loaded and executed Windows CE is in control of the system From this point only Windows CE functions are acces sible to application developers for the 602 Computer 5 TASKMAN EXE the Windows CE shell program is executed by Windows CE The first time CE is execut ed Task Manager performs pen calibration and writes the calibration results to the registry The reg istry is then flushed to persistent storage Task Manager then searches for the Storage Card Wince WCES
