3. assembly screws could result in the switch housing and light fixture falling 8 5 If you want to install the light fixture proceed with step 8 6 now If you do not want to install the light fixture you need to uninstall it now See Uninstalling the Light Fixture on step 8 11 Once you have uninstalled the light fixture continue with step 8 6 l1 42679 01 01 15 09 Hunter Fan Company 8 e Completing Your Installation With or Without a Multi Staked Light Fixture Cont 8 6 To attach the lower switch housing connect the upper plug Plug connector from the motor to the lower plug connector in the Connector lower switch housing assembly Note Both plug connectors are polarized and will only fit together one way Make sure the connectors are properly aligned before connecting them Incorrect connection could cause improper operation and damage to the product 8 7 Place the lower switch housing assembly over the upper switch Housing housing Align the side screw holes in the upper and lower switch housings Attach the lower switch housing to the upper switch housing 8 8 To install each shade first loosen the three thumbscrews 8 9 Raise the shade to the light fixture Tighten the thumbscrews securely 8 10 Install medium based incandescent light bulbs 60 Watt maximum each Plug ee hh Note Glass shade style and number of lights may vary a S

5. 4 2 4 3 3mm 1 8 Support Brace Outlet Box Ceiling Step 4 1 Steps 4 4 4 5 w hi samme Steps 4 6 4 7 n lt x 7 42679 01 01 15 09 Hunter Fan Company gt 5 Wiring the Fan All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes and ANSI NFPA 70 If you are unfamiliar with wiring use a qualified electrician Wall switches are not included Select an acceptable general use switch in accordance with national and local electrical codes 5 1 Before attempting installation make sure the power is still off 5 2 To connect the wires hold the bare metal leads together and place a wire connector over them then twist clockwise until tight For all these connections use the wire connectors provided 5 3 Connect the bare or green ground wire grounded from the ceiling to the green ground wire grounded from the ceiling plate and the green ground wire from the fan 5 4 Connect the white wire ungrounded from the ceiling to the white wire ungrounded from the fan 5 5 Connect the remaining wires as follows Dual Switch Wiring e The black wire ungrounded from the ceiling to the black wire ungrounded from the fan e The black white wire ungrounded from the fan to the wire ungrounded for the wall switch Single Switch Wiring e The black wire ungrounded from the ceiling to
6. ally install a canopy screw between the slots in the canopy When all the holes are properly aligned securely tighten all three canopy screws Verify that the tabs in the canopy are still in the grooves of the hanger ball Align the tabs on the trim ring opposite the grooves in the hanger ball Using both hands push the canopy trim ring up to the top of the canopy The canopy trim ring will snap and lock into place Note Should you need to remove the trim ring press firmly on opposite sides of the trim ring directly above the groove in the hanger ball The tabs will flex out releasing the canopy trim ring Step 6 1 Step 6 2 Step 6 3 Canopy gt Canopy Trim Canopy Screw 9 42679 01 01 15 09 Hunter Fan Company 7 Assembling the Blades Hunter fans use several styles of fan blade irons brackets that hold the blade to the fan 7 1 Your fan may include blade grommets If your fan has grommets Step 7 1 Detail insert them by hand into the holes on the blades 7 2 Attach each blade to a blade iron using three blade assembly screws If you used grommets the blades may appear slightly loose after screws are tightened This is normal 7 3 Remove the blade mounting screws and rubber shipping bumpers from the motor Note Some blade mounting screws are installed in the motor to secure shipping blocks 7 4 For each blade insert one blade
7. her with the holes in the adapter Assemble securely with three low profile screws Low Profile Screw Hanging the Fan Step 3 6 Detail Note To hang the fan you must tilt the canopy to an almost vertical pasa position so that the canopy slots sit on the ceiling plate hooks Adapter Low Profile Screw 3 7 Raise the fan and align the slots in the canopy with the hooks on the ceiling plate Low Profile Washer 3 8 Place the slots over the hooks to hang the fan 6 42679 01 01 15 09 Hunter Fan Company 4 Securing Fan to Secondary Support System 4 1 Find the looped end of the braided cable and insert it through the ceiling plate and one of the holes in the outlet box into the ceiling 4 2 Access the support brace in the ceiling You may not be able to do this from below the ceiling depending on your installation site 4 3 Drive a wood screw and washer into the side of the brace that holds the outlet box Leave 3mm 1 8 of space between the support brace and the washer 4 4 Wrap the braided cable around the support brace once creating a complete circle 4 5 Hook the looped end of the cable over the wood screw so that the braided cable lies between the washer and the support brace 4 6 Tighten the loop and secure the screw and washer all the way down to the support brace 4 7 Coil up the excess cable 4 8 Return to the fan so you can complete the fan wiring Steps

9. lock the circuit breakers in the off position securely fasten a prominent warning device such as a tag to the service panel 2 1 Drill two pilot holes into the wood support structure through the outermost holes in the outlet box The pilot holes should be 9 64 in diameter For Angled Ceilings Be sure to orient the ceiling plate so that the two tabs are pointing toward the ceiling peak 2 2 Your fan comes with four preinstalled noise isolators Check to make sure all four isolators are in place and were not removed during shipment 2 3 Place a flat washer on each of the two 3 wood screws 2 4 Thread the supply wires from the outlet box in the ceiling through the hole in the center of the ceiling plate 2 5 Align the slotted holes in the ceiling plate with the pilot holes you drilled in the wood support structure For proper alignment use slotted holes directly across from each other Note The isolators should be flush against the ceiling 2 6 Pass the screws through the slotted holes in the ceiling plate into the pilot holes you drilled Tighten the screws into the 9 64 pilot holes do not use lubricants on the screws Do not over tighten Flat Washer 3 Wood Screw ieee HEV HUOUUNUUEREDD Ee 5 42679 01 01 15 09 Hunter Fan Company Toward Ceiling Peak For Angled Ceilings Be sure to orient the ceiling plate so that the two tabs are pointing toward the ceiling peak

13. the black ungrounded and the black white wire ungrounded from the fan A CAUTION Be sure no bare wire or wire strands are visible after making connections 5 6 Turn the splices upward and push them carefully back through the ceiling plate into the outlet box 5 7 Spread the wires apart with the grounded wires on one side of the outlet box and the ungrounded wires on the other side of the outlet box 8 EA Wire Connector Dual Switch Wiring AR Y i r ve nem Single Switch Wiring e i 42679 01 01 15 09 Hunter Fan Company 6 Installing the Canopy and Canopy Trim Ring A WARNING Failure to complete the following steps could cause the fan to fall Note It is recommended you use a magnetic tip screwdriver for the following steps 6 1 6 2 6 3 6 6 Rotate the hanger ball so the tab in the canopy is secure in the hanger ball groove Note Your fan may have multiple tabs and grooves that must be aligned Swing the fan up to align the canopy screw holes with the mounting holes on the ceiling plate A WARNING The slots in the canopy must remain engaged while swinging the canopy for alignment Holding the canopy up with the screw holes aligned partially install two canopy screws into the holes opposite the ceiling plate tabs Parti
