If you are not installing the light fixture your installation is complete Otherwise proceed with step 7 8 7 8 The last installation step when installing the light fixture is to install the glass bowl See Installing the Glass Bowl on page 12 for Instructions 41931 01 04 14 07 Plug Connector Steps 7 6 7 7 Lower Switch Housing Plug at Connector Detail Housing Assembly Screw Hunter Fan Company Il 7 Completing Your Installation With or Without a Light Fixture Continued Installing the Glass Bowl 1 First install two B10 candelabra bulbs 60 Watt Maximum into the sockets Attach the extra pull chain included to the fan pull chain using the plastic breakaway connector You may find the plastic breakaway connector on the end of the extra chain Thread the fan pull chain through the hole in the metal disk Then thread the fan pull chain through the hole in the center of the glass bowl bowl Place the cover plate up against the glass bowl Align the holes in the cover plate and glass bowl Thread the fan pull chain and light pull chain through the appropriate holes Thread the light pull chain through the finial and screw the finial onto the threaded rod end until tight Breakaway Connector Hunter Fan Company Thread the light pull chain through the hole in the center of the glass LS pe o E een2. 3 2 or for low profile mounting steps 3 3 3 5 3 1 3 2 a3 3 4 To assemble fan to hang down from a flat or angled ceiling insert the downrod through the canopy and canopy trim ring Feed the wires from the fan through the downrod Loosen the set screw on the adapter to install the pipe and ball assembly Note When the pipe and ball assembly is fully installed 2 3 threads on the pipe will still be visible this is normal Securely retighten the set screw with a wrench or pliers Skip to Step 3 6 A CAUTION The adapter has a special coating on the threads Do not remove this coating the coating prevents the downrod from unscrewing Once assembled do not remove the downrod Remove the set screw from the adapter Place the low profile washer lip up into the canopy Be sure the green ground wire is pointing up toward the ceiling Note For low profile mounting the downrod is replaced with the low profile washer See Steps 3 3 3 5 Align the holes in the washer with the holes in the adapter Assemble securely with three 8 32 x 3 4 screws Raise the fan and place the hook on the ceiling plate through the U shaped hole in the rim Go to 4 e Wiring the Fan A WARNING Fan may fall if not assembled as directed in these installation instructions Step 3 6 U shaped _ Hole 41931 01 04 14 07 All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes an

6. 1 7 3 Screws Housing Assembly m 7 4 Turn the housing counterclockwise until the housing assembly Screw Ha e screws are firmly situated in the narrow end of the keyhole slots Install the remaining screw into the housing Tighten all three screws firmly A CAUTION Make sure the upper switch housing is securely attached to the switch housing mounting plate Failure to properly attach and tighten all three assembly screws could result in the switch housing and light fixture falling 7 5 If you want to install the light fixture proceed with step 7 6 now If you do not want to install the light fixture you need to uninstall it now See Uninstalling the Light Fixture on page 13 Once you have uninstalled the light fixture continue with step 7 6 Hunter Fan Company 41931 01 04 14 07 7 6 To attach the lower switch housing connect the upper plug connector from the motor to the lower plug connector in the lower switch housing assembly Note Both plug connectors are polarized and will only fit together one way Make sure the connectors are properly aligned before connecting them Incorrect connection could cause improper operation and damage to the product 7 7 Place the lower switch housing assembly over the upper switch housing Align the side screw holes in the upper and lower switch housings Attach the lower switch housing to the upper switch housing with three 6 32 x 3 8 housing assembly screws

Step 6 1 Detail 6 2 Attach each blade to a blade iron using three blade assembly screws If you used grommets the blades may appear slightly loose after screws are tightened This is normal 6 3 Some blade mounting screws are installed in the motor to secure shipping blocks Remove the blade mountings screws and rubber bumpers from the motor Save the screws and discard the bumpers 6 4 For each blade insert one blade mounting screw through the blade iron and attach lightly to the fan Insert the second blade mounting screw then securely tighten both mounting screws Blade Assembly Screws Use with grommet Use without grommet Blade Mounting Screw 41931 01 04 14 07 Hunter Fan Company 10 7 Completing Your Installation With or Without a Light Fixture Your Hunter fan comes with an integrated light fixture assembly and an optional switch housing cap and plug button This feature gives you the option of installing the fan with OR without the included light fixture The steps below direct you whether or not you are installing a light fixture A WARNING Use only the light fixture supplied with this fan model 7 1 To attach the upper switch housing partially install two housing assembly screws into the switch housing mounting plate 7 2 Feed the upper plug connector through the center opening of the housing 7 3 Align the keyhole slots in the housing with the housing assembly Steps 7
8. and wire nuts back through the ceiling plate hole into the outlet box Wire Nut 41931 01 04 14 07 4 Wiring the Fan Step 4 4 Hunter Fan Company 5 e Installing the Canopy and Canopy Trim Ring Step 5 2 Ceiling Plate gt Canopy Trim J Ring Step 5 3 Hunter Fan Company Steps 5 4 5 5 5 1 5 2 5 3 Holding the canopy raise the fan off the hook Align the slots in the canopy with the tabs on the ceiling plate Raise the canopy over the ceiling plate Rotate the canopy clockwise until the tabs on the ceiling plate totally engage with the slots in the canopy Loosely assemble the three canopy screws into the canopy one at a time Once all three screws are in tighten them Using both hands push the canopy trim ring up to the top of the canopy The canopy trim ring will snap and lock into place Should you need to remove the canopy trim ring follow these steps 1 Locate the tab indicators small bumps on top of tabs 2 Press firmly on opposite sides of the ring towards the canopy The tabs will flex out releasing the trim ring from the canopy Canopy Screw 41931 01 04 14 07 6 Assembling the Blades Hunter fans use several styles of fan blade irons brackets that hold the blade to the fan 6 1 Your fan may include blade grommets If your fan has grommets insert them by hand into the holes on the blades
9. d ANSI NFPA 70 If you are unfamiliar with wiring use a qualified electrician Wall switches are not included Select an acceptable general use switch in accordance with national and local electrical codes 4 1 4 2 4 3 4 4 4 5 4 6 Disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box and associated wall switch location Decide how you want to set up the fan and light controls You can control the fan and or lights together or separately using one or two wall switches Follow Step 4 3 OR Step 4 4 depending on what you decide Note If you are not installing a light kit follow step 4 4 If you want to you can control the fan and light separately using two wall switches connect the wires as follows connect the green ground wire to the ground wire connect white wire to white wire connect black wire to black wire and connect the black white wire from the fan to the wire for the wall switch Alternatively you can control both fan and light with one switch To do so connect the wires as follows connect the green ground wire to the ground wire connect white wire to white wire connect the black and the black white wire from the fan to the black wire in the ceiling To connect the wires hold the bare metal leads together and place a wire nut over them then twist clockwise until tight A CAUTION Be sure no bare wire or wire strands are visible after making connections Push all wires
