8. 5 Touch up all rusted or chipped paint surfaces sand lightly before painting ENGINE FUEL SYSTEM IMPORTANT It is important to prevent gum deposits from forming in essential fuel system parts such as the carburetor fuel filter fuel hose or tank during stor age Also alcohol blended fuels called gasohol or using ethanol or methanol can attract moisture which leads to separation and formation of acids during storage Acidic gas can damage the fuel system of an engine while in storage Empty the fuel tank by starting the en gine and letting it run until the fuel lines and carburetor are empty Never use engine or carburetor cleaner products in the fuel tank or permanent damage may occur Use fresh fuel next season NOTE Fuel stabilizer is an acceptable alternative in minimizing the formation of fuel gum deposits during storage Add stabilizer to gasoline in fuel tank or stor age container Always follow the mix ratio found on stabilizer container Run engine at least 10 minutes after adding stabilizer to allow the stabilizer to reach the carbure tor Do not empty the gas tank and carbu retor if using fuel stabilizer ENGINE OIL Drain oil with engine warm and replace with clean oil See ENGINE in the Maintenance section of this manual CYLINDER 1 Remove spark plug 2 Pour 1 ounce 29 ml of oil through spark plug hole into cylinder 3 Pull starter handle slowly several times t

11. allow tiller engine and muffler to cool Disconnect spark plug wire Drain gaso line from fuel tank AROUND THE YARD 1 Release the depth stake pin Move the depth stake down to the top hole for transporting the tiller Place depth stake pin in hole of depth stake to lock in position This prevents tines from scuffing the ground 2 Place shift lever indicator in F for ward position for transporting 3 Hold the drive control bar against the handle to start tiller movement Tines will not turn 4 Move throttle control to desired speed 10 e Oak No AROUND TOWN 1 Disconnect spark plug wire 2 Drain fuel tank 3 Transport in upright position to prevent oil leakage BEFORE STARTING ENGINE IMPORTANT Be very careful not to allow dirt to enter the engine when checking or adding oil or fuel Use clean oil and fuel and store in approved clean covered containers use clean fill funnels FILL ENGINE WITH OIL 1 Remove hangtag from engine 2 With engine level remove engine oil filler plug 3 Fill engine with oil to point of overflow ing For approximate capacity see PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS on page 4 of this manual All oil must meet A PI Service Classification SG SL 4 Tilt tiller back on its wheels and then re level 5 With engine level refill to point of over flowing if necessary Replace oil filler plug For cold weather operation you should change o

15. por la garant a deben ser realizadas por una empresa de servicio t cnico del fabricante autorizado del motor IMPORTANTE nunca modifique el regulador del motor el cual se regula en f brica para la velocidad adecuada del motor Utilizar el motor a una velocidad excesiva que supere la regulaci n de alta velocidad de f brica puede resultar peligroso Si cree que es necesario ajustar la velocidad alta del regulador del motor cont ctese con el centro de servicio t c nico Sears m s cercano o con otro centro de servicio t cnico calificado que cuente con la experiencia y el equipo adecuados para realizar los ajustes necesarios 38 PARA AJUSTAR EL CARBURADOR El carburador tiene un chorro de alta velocidad y ha sido preajustado en la f brica y no deber a necesitar ajustes Sin embargo se pueden necesitar ajustes de menor importancia para compensar por las diferencias en el combusti ble temperatura altura o carga Si el carbura dor necesita ajustes pongase en contacto con su centro departamento de servicio autorizado m s cercano IMPORTANTE Nunca manipule el regulador del motor el que ha sido ajusta do en la fabrica para la velocidad del motor adecuada puede ser peligroso hacer funcionar el motor a una velocidad por sobre elajuste de lata velocidad de la fabrica Si cree que la velocidad alta regulada del motor necesita ajuste p ngase en contacto con su centro de servicio cualificado el cual cuenta con el equipoa
